I just came to the realization that from all the PC gaming I've done, anytime my hand is on a keyboard in a picture for example (I have pics of myself on my laptop -.- "cuz im cool"), my hand has ALWAYS been on the WASD keys. Anyone else do this subconsciously?

I figured it'd be called Gamer Claw, then I found this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gaming%20Claw

Yup, WASD, pinky by tab to line it all up. it's how I type too. it's my home row. :D

QWD is more comfortable though. so sometime's it's that. Years and years of training.

...EDIT: my right hand is actual where it's "supposed" to be. >> oddly.JKL;

No...but as a kid, I discovered an affliction that I referred to as Nintendo Thumb. It's when enough playing will turn the thumb white.

yeah, most of the time that's just where my hand lands. I have a bigger problem with PC wrist cramp - you know, after having your wrists setting on the edge of a desk for so long that they fall asleep and start aching?

Any hints on how to solve this?
You could try using a joystick, but that'd only help with one hand.

My left hand rest on AEF with my little finger on shift and thumb on space.
Right hand is HI; with little finger on shift and my thumb on space.
I'm pretty sure that I don't type in the a way that people would teach somebody.
My hands are too long to rest near WSAD all the time so they spread out when I stop playing a game. I think my hands are made more for reaching hotkeys.
Looking at my keyboard now I have only just realised only the S and D keys have been rubbed off where every other key is completely intact. W and A have done well...

My hands are slightly muscle bound from years of working out, so their rest position any time is a sort of claw. If I'm on a PC they're usually on the WASD keys, though.

That twelve week class a took with her a few years ago has that engraved in my body.

Sure do, and I have it for ages. Pinky is on shift for run/crouch/lean/whatever is bound there. Thumb on space, right hand is space-H-I-O-enter.

I'll default to resting my hand on A, S, and D whenever I boot up a game, but never any time else. If I'm, say, browsing the web, my left hand will rest below my space bar so I don't hit anything by accident.

Pretty much. My knuckles are also raised which cause a lot of discomfort after a while.
