I for one don't approve.
I mean, I don't mean to diss the Escapist, but come on man!
Anime reviews?
Removing Unforgotten Realms?
Constant news posts about Pr0n?
What's going on?
There's also that USA only thing you just went for.
Why?
Think the rest of the world can't speak english well enough or something?
It's the trade language of the world!
I'd be surprised if I went to a country that didn't have people who knew it.
Once again, don't want to diss the Escapist, but that's just my opinion.

well unless people outside of the us buy region free dvd players (like the ones sold on j-list) then outside the us people can watch any dvd regardless of encoding...

but the the thought tht i would get to own the dvd afterwards is definately a tempting prospect... wonder if i can convince the escapist to review japanese date sims released to the us, lol i'd review them.

I think it has more to do with the fact the shipping costs out of country might be a bit much for them to want to do on a weekly basis for a very short review. When you sit down and consider that the viewer base spends no money to read these articles and that writing takes a very solid grasp of a language (granted I'm sure about 99% of the brits here would love to point out that the language in question is "english") than you can understand their desires.

I'm debating it...
My piece would have to be about Death Note though, my favorite manga...and something that does not translate very well to an anime.
Odd. Despite the manga origins I thought it made an excellent anime. Heck, even the over the top performances in the english dubbings aren't all that bad. I mean there's eating a potato chip, and eating a potato chip epically. I wouldn't think that was possible until Death Note.

It may be due to if you preview stuff on chrunroll and other legal streaming sites you are kinda stuck to a US IP, not to mention the DVDs.

I'd try for it...but I need 10 more years to sound less coherent than I am now >>

If I was better with dead lines and was well connected with anime like I was afew years I would submit a review and also I'm not going to be home, with good internet, much this year. Though I LOVE Princess Mononoke and I think I'm a good writer, seeing as all my high school English teachers loved me for my writing skills; opps I'm being cocky, I still have issues with deadlines much to my high school newspapers editor's dismay.

As one of the current anime critics here, I look forward to reading the reviews of whoever gets picked.

I understand there's a deadline need if they chose you, but is there a deadline for this unpaid position? Because I still need to watch the last six episodes of Ouran High School Host Club before I send in my entry for the position.

EDIT: Now I feel silly because I read the requirements once again. But I'm game, Escapist, you'll have my reviews. Oh yes, you will.

i actually have written a gurren lagann review for facebook. i'll have to add stuff in and clean it up though cause its been a while since i wrote it. other than that, i can find time to write a review for either death note or princess mononoke.
