While it wasn't wildly hated, I really liked Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. I need to the second one and I know a third is on the way. It wasn't hated but nobody ever really talks about it.

Spore I like it because I can play it with my kids. Plus the creature creator is pretty fun to mess around with.

Fable II has been beaten around a bit by more than one reviewer, but to now it's actually my favorite game. Halo 3, but again that is about as hated as it is loved.

I really liked MW2. It was one of the first games i played after getting a new PC, and was pretty amazed by some of the action it packed. And yes, even though the MP quite often makes me rage, i still like it.

Wouldn't really call Call Of Duty hated as much as polarizing, same thing for sports games, but if you count those ones as hated - yeah.

Call Of Duty, Fifa, NHL, all of that good stuff.

And FIFA 11. A lot of people say sports games don't change much year by year blah blah blah. The changes are quite significant in the FIFA series since 09, and people never seem to complain something like CoD or Halo never really changes.
Never seem to complain?

That's just not true.

Deadly Premonition.

It's awesome.

Also, Call of Duty. Yes, the plot may be absolutely insane and just plain stupid, but the actual elements used in the storytelling are unrivaled.
The set-piece battles are truly impressive, and I think everyone remembers Modern Warfare's campaign really fondly.

The Dynasty Warriors series

What can i say? I'm a sucker for the hack-and-slashy-button-mashy. It's pure mindless fun, i like to slay legions of baddies. It might be shallow, but i don't care. I like to feel powerful.
Um...there isn't anyone hating on DW?

Also FF8, loved that game.
Since following the DW series from the PS2 era right up through to DW6 on the 360, i've been repeatedly told how shallow the DW series is for how basic the premise, combat and AI is. Scores from reviewers seem to hit around the 5 to 6 out of 10 mark, which is generally considered poor by today's standards.

Incidentally, FF8 is my second favourite Final Fantasy, with FF9 being my most favourite. I thought the criticisms were fairly valid for it though. (unfriendly mechanics with the whole GF junctioning and 'Draw' thing, and the fact FF8 was essentially a love story which may have left typical fans a bit dishevelled)

Also, that card game in FF8 was awesome. I have the background music from it in my head to this day.

Compare it to Uprising by Muse. They literally copied the tune from that card game.

I like Spore... still go back and take a new species to space once in awhile. It's simple, but fun, and it encourages silly creativity.

I personally found Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus to be enjoyable, at least up to the point where they jumped the shark with the giant final boss/level/thing. I beat him by literally walking in a circle and shooting repeatedly. If they'd ended it with Weiss, it'd have been better, but oh well. Still a fun game.

I also liked FF XII. I understand the Vaan hating, but he was an executive decision, so we have to suck it up. I don't understand why some people outright hated the new features like the license board, fully real-time battles, and gambits. Guess they liked the older systems more?

Also, I know some people disliked Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube (mainly due to the multiplayer requiring a Gameboy per person), but I'm not sure if the feeling is widespread. The 3 to 5 preowned copies I see at every GameStop that appear to have only been played once seem to suggest so, however.

Brutal Legend. Its gameplay wasn't really explained very well so a lot of people passed it off as being badly desgined. It's anything but. Easily some of the most well thought out mechanics I've ever seen, which all fit together and compliment each other so nicely. I've had a thousand times more fun in stage battles than any other RTS, PC or otherwise, and it just irks me when people say that they don't work or that the game should have stayed hack-n-slash, because it's only bad tutorials that stopped a lot of people back from realizing how insanely addictively fun the battles are once you get the hang of them.

Really? That suprises me, while I think MW2 and Black Op's get far more criticism I have heard both legitimate criticism(M16 is overpowered) and less legitimite (It is COD therefore mainstrem shit). I've read a lot of criticism of it on this forum, others and in "real life".

Everyone has different experience s though, I was shocked to see Manhunt on this thread.

Final Fantasy 13. People hate on it way too much; it was one of my favorite Final Fantasy's really...
So seconding that.
FFXIII was great and the "linearity" hate is so bullshit.
So I'm very excited for FFXIII-2
