All the time, sometimes If I see someone on probation for a post in a different thread I'll go and check that too.

More often than not they aren't very interesting, usually trolling or just mindlessly spamming "first", but sometimes I end up disagreeing with an admin's decision, such as Digi7 in the flamethrower thread.

God yes.
It's like a car crash, you just can't help yourself from slowing down and having a look.

I look at them just to see what the poster got in trouble for. Admittedly it's a little mean-spiritedly as I get to quietly chuckle at their mistakes without risking anything of my own. That and it's something to do in order to avoid the outside world.
And welcome to you, new person.
Someone will probably give you a welcoming speech soon, I prefer a welcoming song, sung by a clam.

Welcome to Hell! the Escapist.
Oh, and mind the Basement. Weird things happen there...

Yes, but that is because we are curious beings.

Everyone knows What... the question is WHY?

That is what maks us human.

And also why putting humans in control of other humans is a bad idea. (read government)

Yeah. It's a very bad habit of mine. "Oh, suspended. Must be a bastard...let's see now."
Yeah, this is pretty much what I do. I usually want to find out if their post was offensive and vulgar, or just plain stupid.

Yes. Pure curiosity. I'll open it up in a new tab, see what they did, and then continue on reading the thread I was reading before.

Haha, thank you Sassafrass, for the welcome! The song was quite rousing, and now I'm interested in finding the Basement, sounds like a fun place.

I just look because I am usually curious about why they got on probation/suspended, etc etc.

Really, I think Government is a good thing. If it wasn't for regulation, then jackasses would still be selling poisoned meat and calling it aged. If it weren't for regulation, the utility companies would be free to withhold services until everyone was a bonded servant of theirs.

I'm not saying huge government is necessary, but it is a necessary to have a system in place to restrain people with power from abusing everyone else. (Railroad companies, Wall-Street.) And yes that means government needs good third party oversight too.

I like reading the "This person has been banned" ones.

Mostly because its always threats of violence that borderline on "Dear giddy god call the freaking police"

It never fails to amuse me how people will take topics like transformers and pokemon to threats of violence involving sodomy, barbed wire, and a soup can.

Amuses... and mildly disturbs.

The government can actually be a way for the average person to speak for his country. Sadly since voter turn outs are dismal the average politician generally only cares about lobbyists and other organizations. Last Canadian election i think we only had just over 50% voter turn out.

If more people actually got out, looked into every candidate, even fringe groups, and cast there ballot the we could shake the government up a bit and political parties might actually smell fear again...

Yes, I read the posts of those who have been punished. Some suspensions are understandable, other I do not understand at all.

Oh well, in the mods I trust.

I ALWAYS have to look at those links: those things are magnetic. There have even been a few times when I've accidentally clicked on ones for the same person more than once... sad I know.

I always look. I'm curious and it's a fun way to waste time.
Oh by the way my latest probation was for telling the mods that their news post was beaten by the forum. I normally wouldn't except by the time they reported on it it was already a 13 page topic.
Yeah I should PM a mod but I didn't. My bad.

I will look, although I sometimes don't understand why the post warrants a probation/banning.
Still informative as to what NOT to do...
