I have 2 copies of Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast because the first one I owned got too scratched to play.

And I have 2 copies of Metal Gear Solid 2 because I bought one used to see if I would like the gameplay and stuff, then I bought the Essential Collection to get the rest of the series.

I had another copy of Portal after preordering Portal 2, but I gave it to a friend.

I've bought two copies of Final Fantasy 7 and 9, three of 8 (one of which was on psn), because disks got scratched.
Mass Effect on Xbox 360 then Steam.
All four Oddworld games because I wanted to play them again but at least one of the original Xbox ones isn't 360-compatible (also Steam sale).
Trine on psn then from the Humble Indie Bundle.
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 retail then Steam because I got a new computer and didn't want securom on it (also Steam sale).
Do remakes count? I've got loads of those.

I have 4 copies of Ocarina of Time, one on N46, The normal and Master Quest versions from the Wind Waker L.E, and on the Zelda Collectors Edition on GC as well.

I also have 2 copies of Majoras Mask. One on N64 and the other on the Zelda C.E.

I also have 2 copies of Need for Speed Most Wanted. I have the Black Edition on PS2, and the normal version on 360. I have them both because you could only get the Black Edition on PS2, and when it first came out I didn't have a 360. I loved the game so much I bought it again.

I also bought Fable twice. The normal version and Lost Chapters, although I got rid of the normal version.

I also have a load of Pokemon and Guitar Hero games (and Rock Band 2) which are all more or less the same really.

Edit: Oh, I also had 2 copies of Flatout Ultimate Carnage. A mix up with the order meant I got (and payed) for 2 copies instead of one. Sent it back straight away though.

It's pretty rare, unless it's a port/remake.

Though, I have a habit of buying games if they're REALLY good on console and PC.

Also, GOG has made be re-buy many a game.

I don't have any multiple copies, unless you count the different versions of Pokemon as the same game.

2 copies of C&C Generals w/ Zero Hour cuz' accidentally cracked Disc 1 for Generals and

I have the copy of Morrowind that I bought on release, but I also have a GOTY Edition that came with the two expansions. I bought that about 5 years later.

I have purchased two copies of Sacrifice, after my first copy got scratched to hell and wouldn't install.

I bought Mass Effect for the 360 but as soon as it came out on the PC I bought it again. I only got the PC version of ME2, though.

So I snagged a cheap copy of Mass Effect today on sale on Steam, because I've got ME2 PC that came with DA2 and I figured I'd enjoy replaying the games on PC when I got to thinking, I've got a lot of double games.

I've got Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Mass Effect 2, Batman:AA, and a few others on the PC and the 360. I've got more then a few "cheap" games from XBLA and Steam, Defence Grid for example. And I've got like 4 copies of Star Craft that I some how managed to accumulate over the years, bargain bins are great when you lose discs in moves.

I've also repurchased games digitally that I've lost or had damaged, for example X-Com, I had and original copy of that somewhere, no clue where it is, but I've now got a copy on Steam.

I blame the insidious steam sales that make me want to snatch up games just because they are cheap, and plus I've got a decent computer for the first time in ages, and health reasons have forced me to start gaming more on the PC then the 360 (my eyes are going, easier to see action the PC then the TV)

So how many games do you have multiple copies of?
I made the switch from 360 to PS3 as my console of choice about a year ago, and since, I've replaced a good handful of games with PS3 copies given that I only ever use my XBox for the exclusives, now.

One example would be Oblivion. I had a hard time getting into it when it first came out; the first copy (on PC) I had was "lost" in the tail end of a bad relationship going sour (and a whole mess of movies, too, but that's neither here nor there) and the replacement was stolen. I gave it another go when I picked up the GoTY for 360, then picked up a PS3 copy shortly after getting my PS3. I subsequently got yet another PC GoTY copy strictly for tinkering around with mods...so I've cycled through 5 copies of the game.
Dragon Age: Origins and Fallout 3 are more examples, as I have my 360 Collector's edition copies, then picked up the Ultimate/GoTY copies for PS3 later on.

The issue I personally have with owning multiple copies is that I have a hard time parting with games I've bought, so I end up keeping the former copies.
