OT: Sometimes I do on competitive games. I'll get extremely tense and it can cause me to make mistakes, especially if I know it's just me against one other person on the opposite team. I know our team's have been evenly matched and now it's all down to me whether we'll win or lose. But sometimes when I'm outnumbered I'll suddenly become The Terminator. I remember I was playing Search and Destroy on Call of Duty one time and I was outnumbered four to one and I managed to kill all four players on the enemy team within seconds of each other.

But on games like Gears of War's horde mode or Mass Effect 3's multiplayer I never get like that.

In terms of Living Dead in Halo: Reach, yeah. I know it's the best time to score points en masse so you wanna take advantage of it, but it's also almost certain you'll die.

Being the last scum standing in a game of Epic Mafia was... the only time I've had an adrenaline rush playing an IRC game. Seriously, I was a filthy sweaty liar, and if it wasn't for the fact that the game is text only, I'd have fooled no one.

I've had a couple of last man standing moments in real life dodge ball, back in highschool. We were playing 9th and 10th grade vs 11th and 12th grade, I was 14 and a terrible throw. Alone. Against the entire team of upper classmen. Against all odds, my pitiful danmaku skills payed off, and I was able to force a stalemate by dodging every ball then preventing them from rolling back.

Not usually. I feel pretty proud to outlast everyone else, and even have a burst of conidence thinking I can take the rest of them down! But mostly, I just hope that the person that kills me did so in a really cool way so people don't think I'm a noob.

Yeah, back when I was still playing CoD my favorite game type was Search and Destroy...and I always HATED being the Clutch Man. Now I've pulled off some pretty clutch come-backs, think the most I had to take down as the last man standing was 4 (I've been in games against full teams still alive and taken out 3 or 4, but never the entire remaining team if there's 5 or 6). But during those moments I'm more panicked/scared than I ever have been playing any game that's supposed to be scary (well, except for the marine campaign in AvP 2 for the PC...that campaign is pretty terrifying ).

The only multiplayer I've really played is Mass Effect 3, and if I'm the last one standing, I'll try and keep my cool, depending on how many enemies are left. That is until I remember that the other plays are all watching what the hell I'm doing, then I feel like a loser because I'm running from cover to cover taking pot shots at the remaining enemies.

Feels good if you take them all down though, and everyone else gets back up.

I guess it depends on the game. In Gears of War 2, I kept calm because I was decent enough at the game. Gears 3 though, I was not as good at.

If I'm alone in Left 4 Dead (and it isn't Versus), I can usually make it through. I'm pretty damn good at the game.

The games I panic in morst are Team based RTS's where I have teammates relying on my every move, which packs on the pressure. Unlike most other genres, theres is a limit to the slack a good player can take up when paired with a not so good one, meaning synergy is key. Also, in 1v1 match-ups I usually start off shaky, but after a few matches, wins and losses, I get comfortable and start to perform better. I have to go through this phase each time I boot up and RTS.

Or Dark Souls/Demons Souls when a black phantom invades, usually because I'm completely ill prepared or totally focused on something else that the FLASHING NAME startles me, causing me to enter the fight with my worst foot forward. Conversely, when I invade other players, due to me having the element of surprise I don't get as jittery, but I'm not devoid of tension either. Something about the 1v1 side of things cripples my focus. Too personal maybe.

I don't recall ever panicking in games like Left 4 Dead, mainly because I always played with mates and we never got to worked up on the goal of winning and instead just played for fun... which often resulted in winning strangely. Even as last man, I would be having a ball, with my mates cheering me and jeering me in equal parts.

Other "Team" based games like Elimination game modes or whatever game in that vein you think of, are usually stress free for me too(beyond bullshit events that we all flare up over), because more often then not, there is no TEAM element. Just one big clusterfuck.

Yes because my team always dies in Killing Floor after they have enraged a Fleshpound and I have a small army of Clots and Scrakes behind me and a Siren with the FP in the front. So in short usually if I am the last one left my team has royally fucked themselves over. Unless it is HQ in CoD 2 or 4.

It is terrifying in CS:S. Worse when you're 1 v 1 and you're under pressure to disarm the bomb.

Not really. If I'm the only one left out of my group, I'm EXPECTED to fail. Therefore, I can only be no worse than expected or gloriously badass, and even if I only take a few people with me I look awesome.

I can only remember a couple times where I've actually won from such a situation (I don't play multiplayer much) but when I have, it's been legendary. ^^

I love being the last man standing. Instead of panicking, I end up going into what feels like a hyper-alert state. Not sure if I actually AM more alert than otherwise but I definitely feel like it.

Left4Dead is another story though, because being alone in Left4Dead basically means you're screwed.
