TheBenMan - Make sure you use your little finger on your neck hand properly, I didn't and now it just curls up and cowers every time I play so I'm down one finger there Also, start with full chords, starting with power chords will handicap you when you move on.

I play bass guitar. I'm not very good, as I don't practice too much. I'm trying to practice more by playing tabs; I'm learning "Scream of the Butterfly" by Acid Bath at the moment.

...well, do you? I'm just curious to see if any of you guys are musically minded, like me. I play electric bass (Epiphone Thunderbird, probably the greatest thing I've ever owned), and tend to play covers of things like RATM, Muse, The Living End, Sublime... all sorts really. So, do you play an instrument and if so what do you like to play?

Ok, I lied in my previous post - I just bought a cheap acoustic guitar to try and learn how to play. Any tips for a beginner?

sure. learn some basic finger excercises and scales, and build on that. If you wanna learn to play other stuff that been written, learn TAB, because that's easy. If you need help, message me!

I play both cello and piano to diploma standard, unlike most people who say they play piano when what they really mean is that they can play the left hand chords to Smoke on the Waters and the coldplay thing.

Also I sing as a professional baritone, and give regular public performances on all my instruments.

I used to dabble with the guitar, but I got bored of it.
