I'm 14 so I can't make the character look like me, but I do make moral choices based on what I percieve to be right (for example in Fallout 3, 3 Regulators were chasing those two children from Rivet city. So naturally I killed the child attacking bastards and loot their bodies. I was rewarded for my good deed with a note saying that I had a bounty on my head).

I do what i would do! In fable i go around killing people for no reason when i'm bored![/sarcasm] i don't think there are many people who could do what they would do in the situation, even when being good, i wouldn't do anything in these games...

I squick whenever I do bad things. I usually have a sword with me. I like to be as a snarky bastard and asshole. But I haven't really been able to make a "me" in a game except for the first one.

I mostly play as myself the first time through. Mostly.
I mean, I don't go around stealing stuff in real life and hacking everyone's computers when they aren't looking.
But dialog wise I try and pick good dialog options first time through, even though in real life I would say the 'bad' dialog options sarcastically. Sarcasm doesn't seem to blend well with the heavy handed morality in games these days.

But second play throughs all bets are off. I'm doing every horrible thing I can and then I usually make a character that looks completely different from me.

I feel like the no game has been created that allows one person to create an exact replica of yourself. You can go to say the sims but honestly what if you get pissed and wanna go on a killing spree? They've not yet meshed a game to create a hybrid GTA and Sims.

However games like Fable 2 allow me to create an alter ego that i would have to say is a pretty accurate representation of how i would act in said situation.

Like ThrobbingEgo said "Real world encumbrance is a *****"

Yeah, I play as myself. I'm a druidic spear- specialist who takes the "burn the forest down - branch, sprout and leaf - and watch the magic circle of life complete" to the human cities.

Hell no. If i played as myself in oblivion, people really would have "fought mudcrabs more fearsome than you".

I usually play as some androgynous guy with spiky hair and an unrealisticly huge sword, who's obviously compensating for something; so I'd have to say no, because I'm not David Bowie with a small penis.

Oh, you mean those action games with RPG elements and moral choices? Well, considering the only two options in Mass Effect were guidance counselor and prick, I probably played myself pretty well.
LOL.

I think that i tend to make myself if i was at my ideal looks and weight. since most action rpg chars are super ripped and have perfect features, im not arrogant enough to think of myself as that good looking.

also i usually dont just walk into peoples houses and take whatever they have laying around, which is a staple of most games, and curiously many games dont register as being something bad
morally, i tend to be the good guy, but once in awhile I end up hosing an NPC because they are a total prick and get "darkside points" for it.

I dont care what they look like most of the time. Because pretty much the whole game Ill be looking at the back of his head and/or wearing a helmet and armor. I usually act like myself though in RPG's.

Bleh..

I tend to model characters after people I know IRL

For Example, I modeled my first fallout 3 character as an evil psychotic melee weapon weilding female, AKA my girlfriend.

Whenever I come to games I tend to play as women (though I'm a guy), no idea why
You're a guy and you're going to be looking at the same piece of ass for the next 40+ hours may as well be a good one
Agreed.

I tend to play as a female. Somewhere along the grey lines - whatever benifits me. Anyways, people who do play as themselves are kinda defeating the object of a ROLE-PLAYING game. But that's just what I think. There is no wrong way to play an RPG..apart from not playing it at all, I suppose?

I'm a male who comes from Chinese/East Asian descent.

That said when customization comes to play, I usually make my character a Latina female.

What does that say about me?
That you have good taste in women :p

I either make myself or a firey redhead chick. Both are fun to look at :p
hey look people who understand that playing as a girl character is not gay and is worth it to be able to look at a hot babe for hours on end =D

Incendently i play as short black haired busty white girls
How can staring a hot girl's arse make you more gay than staring a butch man's? I've never understood that train of thought :p

For what it's worth, I also play black guys based on either Samuel L. Jackson or Ving Rhames, but that doesn't seem to generate the same kinda "wierdness factor", despite the fact I'm so white I can hide in front of snowmen...

I usually try to make my character as saintly as possible... even if part of me is saying "There's no way you'd be this forgiving, or for that matter, this clever, in real life." Classic example is Mass Effect.

Meh, I never play as myself. Thats for real life to handle.

I always play as Argonians in the TES-series, because I'm a frog in real life.

...Anyway, I usually play stealthy ,backstabbing types, not really what I am in real life though. At least i'd like to think that. /shrug

I am usually pretty nice and likeable except I have a tendency to steal whatever I want.
So except for the stealing thing, I play pretty much as myself.

I don't care about how I look though, I usually just try to make my character look permanently annoyed by fiddling with his eyebrowns.
