Do you purposely avoid REALLY big forum posts?

I almost never check the hot threads because they often consist of up 300 pages each. I don't really bother to post on them if I know there's never a chance of them getting read.

So, I spend most of my time in the forums looking through the Latest Threads for small, interesting posts.

So, what do you do.

And, I intentionally left this "poll-less".

Yeah i dont becasue after the first page your reply wont get read. Its just people quoting each other.

Couldn't agree more, the closest I will normally mange is to skim through about the first page of the thread, then go look somewhere else.

And even for those Forum games such as the Asylum Game which was going aroudn a while ago, by the time you've thought up some really funny phrase of anecdote about the person who posted above you, someone else has posted...

And then your post refers to someone else and sounds strange...

Ah. I thought this was going to be a complaint about enormous opening posts in threads about the OP's personal problems. Them, I avoid. I've got enough stuff to deal with, myself.

I just don't want to read all of the pages and then find that what I have posted has already been said. The only HUGE thread I read/ post in is BonsaiK's Relationship thread because he gives me hope. ^^

I only read past the first page if there's an interesting discussion, but I rarely post in threads that exceed four pages, unless they're forum games.

I realize the irony of this but I'm going to quote you.

Why? Because if someone nails the thread in the first few posts then usually I'm not going to reply and you sir, nailed it.

If I have something I really want to say... But I tend to not read all posts if there are 3 pages. 2 is my limit =3.

And I hate loooooooong OPs too!

If the topic is of great interest to me, I make it my solemn duty to read through that entire thread before making my post... as should we all. And even then I sometimes forget to post.

Of course you can always ignore said large threads, whichever. I admit to doing this if it doesn't interest me.

I don't avoid them, but I just go to the first and last pages to see the original discussion and the most recent. If the original discussion interests me, I read on further.

Nah, if I have something to say, I will post. I don't check the other pages very often though, it's usually just the first page and the last page.
