Do you Recognise people not by name but by Avatar?

Im just curious i do it all the time.

But i always look at avatars so i know whos who but when they change there avatar i get a bit lost and think 'WoW there are alot of new people'

I recognise only a couple of people by name, but the vast majority by their avatars. I get completely confused when they change their pictures though

I don't think I ever really read people's names. Unless they have been quoted and i want to see who wrote the OP, but other than that, yer i just recognize avatars.

Eh, I have to recognise most people by name. Sure, the avatar plays a part in it, but mainly the name for places where there are no avatars. Need to remember the names of users, not just their avatar >.>

I recognize most people by avatar. But it's really annoying that so many people have that dude from Fallout 3 as their avatar. Makes it hard to separate them

I'm absolutely terrible at names, but I never forget a face. Because of this, I go by avatar more often then by name.

I can't count the number of people I've offended upon meeting them and instantly forgetting their name. You literally have to tell me twice when you're introducing me to someone, because I basically don't even hear it the first time.

If a user changes their avatar I automatically assume it's someone I don't know, 'cause I rarely look at their names. I've even changed an avatar on a different site before and confused myself. >.<

I identify people by there picture not there name. Theres that one person with the portman clip, the smiley face with the scout gear and don't forget Gandalf. I couldn't tell you their names though.
