Do you sing over your mic?

I was in an Xbox Live Party yesterday and some person was singing. I don't know about you but it was pretty damn annoying. It MIGHT be ok if they could sing the song right but they couldn't. Anyway, main discussion: Do you sing over your mic and Do you find it annoying when someone else does so?

EDIT: Or do you take the even jerk-isher option of turning on your iPod and putting it right up to your mic so everyone can hear vague sounds followed by static? (This is the lesser of my 2 pet peeves on Xbox Live)

Mute FTW

However, when me are a decent party in Guitar Hero, we usually all get the "fever" for singing. Usually during "We're An American Band".

It's quite humorous as well, when one is drunk. You haven't heard singing until you've heard "Blue Orchid" from a wasted friend.

i've encountered it from time to time. it usally sounds like bored children trying to get on your nerves so they can one up you at the game.

My friends do, I tell them to be quiet, and if they don't stop singing, I just leave or mute them.

i usually dont...but there have been times when i've been talking about a song i've heard or one i sang at karaoke the night before and my friends have asked me to sing it, so i guess if im asked to i will, but it's not something i make a habit of

Little bit of both but in all seriousness i don't like it when you ask politely to stop and then more of them join in but LOUDER.

I do, but I'm actually a pretty decent singer.

Oh, and I don't make up the lyrics. I usually can only sing songs I know by heart, otherwise I just won't sing them.

Singing I can stand, what I can't stand is morons who just hold down the mic button so you get 1 of 3 things happen:

1) You get a constant stream of static

OR

2) You listen to them breathing peculiarly loudly

OR

3) You hear a repeat of everything in the game through their microphone, so everything has an echo

Its mainly annoying when the person will constantly do it after being told not to by everyone in the party.

Hehe, we crashed the servers with our singing.

OT: A few times playing Team Fortress 2 people have spontaneously started singing the pokemon theme song. Along with many other nerdy references(Ranging from Star-Trek to Yu-Gi-Oh to He-Man).

They were mostly hilarious since everyone sang though. But it does get annoying sometimes.

I don't do multiplayer, but I might consider it (I can sing fairly well). Opera sniper FTW?
