Do you steal pencils?

Simple question, do you steal stationary?
Pens, pencils, paper, highlighters, rulers, etc. Do you get an urge to steal these things when they are just lying on a desk and nobody is watching?

I for one, do it all the time. I go into school with around 2 pens and a pencil and I come back with 4 more pens by the end of the day.

I do not, as far as thieving go I find that very pathetic... Who is such a slob that he loses that many pens/rubbers per day that he needs to STEAL it from others?[footnote]I know this wasn't with your case but that´s the only reason I can think of for someone to go around stealing such cheap stuff[/footnote]o_o

Well not exactly every day, but I do usually come back with more than what I came in with.

As for what I do with them, I just put them in a pot on my desk

If I saw one in the hallway back in my Highschool days, I grabbed it. Nowadays I don't need pencils on a daily basis so no. I've retired.

No, when I was in school I bought my own shit. Obviously before I could get my own money my Mom did.

It pissed me off when people took my things.

Stole? No. However, I worked as a janitor cleaning classrooms and you would not believe the stuff students would leave behind.

I didn't have to buy pens or pencils for 3 years thanks to all the forgetful college kids.

Not a school, no. But we got as many pens from people coming to talk to us in Social Ed classes, we were drowning under free pens/pencils/highlighters with sticky tabs on them.

Although I did and still do with Ikea and Argos pens*. It's almost a sport.

Well, the only place I ever left with an abundance of pencils that I haven't previously bought is IKEA but that's what the pencils are there for, isn't it?

Otherwise no, more so that I study Computer Science and it's kinda hard to stumble upon a pen at our university.

To be fair, if you don't care enough about it to leave it behind on a desk for half a day (edit: exaggeration, even half an hour works here), i'm not surprised it was taken.

Which is why I have a pen that cost me four quid. Overpriced as hell but i'll never forget it again.

I steal any miscellaneous item lying around in my classroom, assuming that no one is around.
