do you think humanity will end when the sun burns out?

this really got me thinking, with human technology accelerating at holy crap rates and we have been evolving at rates ware we aren't so kill everything anymore.

so if we live on for 6 billion more years (or evolved offspring) will we have the capabilities to escape a exploding star?

my theory- we would have already escaped thousands of years before predicting the possibility of it and colonized hundreds of other planets in the galaxy with super awesome technology.

only thing we know for sure is that the earth will end from it.

the rest is blank.

Realistically, I'm thinking we nuke ourselves to death way before that becomes an issue.

If humanity hasn't left the planet by the time the sun expands to engulf the earth, I'd say it'll probably end when everything of value is burned to cinders. Or long before that.

If we survived that long we would be long gone from Earth. We'll use the planets resources and doom ourselves before that happens. Or we'll destroy each other with war. Or aliens will attack.

Yup. Either we'll die long before that, or escape the planet long before that.

G.E.C.K. will become a reality, and the universe is ours. If humanity is even around when that happens.

Pretty much this.

The sheer timescale involved means we can talk of three possibilities.
1. Humanity has been wiped out before it happens
2. Humanity is on earth, but has regressed to pre-space society despite the ease it takes to see the imminent threat of growing sun looming.
3. We are on other planets, if not other solar systems.

Persnally, I think 1 and 3 are the most likely outcomes.

Its five million years away, so I think that the human race will probably be extinct by then, or else replaced by future evolutions of our species.
There are a lot of much more imminent dangers to the survival of the human race that are likely to occur before hand - like the erruption of supervolcanos, drastic changes in global temperature (global warming or cooling)

Naw. If we're still alive as a species we will have seen it all coming and have already moved elsewhere. I doubt that we will still be around by then, however (at least, in our current state).

I'm hoping that we already have gotten off the earth by then and found a new solar system and I'm also hoping the futures kinda like the show firefly.

Our Earth would be doomed long before the sun explodes. It progressivly grows hotter meaning eventually our Earth will be uninhabitable long before the sun dies. But even by then, if we still exist we would have moved on to other worlds. Hopefully.

we would properly already have killed us self, or we have made a gigantic energy shield around earth heating the earth
