Do you think Natal can help the 360 dominate 2010?

It is alright having a natal for the 360, only if there are/doing to be any good games to go with it. I myself have a wii and loved playing it uptill 3 years ago when ninetendo games started to go towards the pre-teens girls and crap mini games u only play once coz u have mastered how to get top score within 20 mins of playing. As long as microsoft dont go towards that path, they should fine.

P.S, I'm a big Halo fan but im no looking forward to the new Halo Reach, to be honest i enoyed ODST much more then Halo 3.

As long as they don't lead off the Natal software releases with whatever that horribly creepy kid is in. Natal has a huge advantage over Wiimotes in that the input's based on position instead of just measuring acceleration... so in a fighting game you'd really have to swing your arms around etc. I dunno what they're going to try with the games but all it's gotta be able to pull off is DDR without a mat and that would probably be a big enough success.
God I love DDR except for the mats.

I don't see Reach being a mass-appeal title, while Halo was really good it seems like the more recent games in the series are for people who are already Halo fans.

Never underestimate the power of Microsoft, they always have an ace up their sleeve, (note: their very expensive sleeve!).

That being said I actually liked the EyeToy. The first game was good, (Window Cleaning and Ninja swatting was FUN! I don't care what anyone says I loved me them minigames!) , and Sega Superstars was pretty fun too, (but very flawed, it hardly worked).

If they get the right devs on it, and get them to take it seriously, it might have some interesting applications.

That being said, I wouldn't be too disappointed if it bombed completely.

If it works as advertised (HIGHLY unlikely) it might help then. But anyone who wants motion control already has a wii so I'm guessing the market will be very small.

Also isn't the 360 already likely to dominate 2010? It's the console everyone seems to get now

i believe i should just repeat what i said in the last Natal thread: yes, your body is essentially the controller... but what excatly does this do for me? how can I scroll through the xbox dashboard with it? Do i swing my arms around retardly, or do i still need to use a controller? outside of racing, fps, tps, i cant see how natal is useful. this also why i'm not getting the 'gem' or 'wand' for ps3. i dont know what the hell the point to it is! you know what is sweet though, my PS3 knows when i sit down at my desk. i walk into my room, sit down and without even touching the dual shock or console itself it turns on and starts playing a random song. now thats useful.

Well, I feel like a lot of moms and casual gamers will buy a 360 because of the "neato" motion sensor thing.

Yes, it is. (So it's reported.)
However, PS3 does have GOW3 coming out, so you never know. (I only mention GOW because I don't think Heavy Rain's been advertised enough.)

OT: Most likely, there will be a rise in 360 sales. A lot of people will buy it just because it's the next big thing of the time.

This is where the Wii fails to be a "hardcore" console as it were. Too many developers jumping on the band wagon with tacked on motion control. They sell of course, but are they really good? It's safe to say that developers will likely take Natal seriously, much like very few take the Wii seriously.

Only thing Natal will do is make all thoses parents, who bought that and Halo 3 for there middle school kid, buy natal so EVERYONE can play on the 360. So now all the 13 year olds that swear and ack like dicks on XBL will have less time on XBL casue there 6 year old sister wants to paint a doggie with Natal.
So I'm not the only one who has their console commandeered to play trivial games, I regret getting Rock Band, knowing of their popularity with my sisters.

I think the hype of Natal will help the 360 dominate, but then the luster will wear off. The housewives and small children will go back to the Wii, and Natal will remain in my closet along with DDR and the Rockband kit.

Dominate? Yes. lose my respect for the console for lowering itself down to the Wiis level, to have more screechy assed kids playing xbox live? Also yes.

Dominate what exactly?
I don't see Natal as a system mover at this point. Maybe if it came out a couple of years ago it could've stolen some of Nintendo's market share but at this point I think it's just going to be something that will allow the non-gamers of a 360 household to get more use out of that loud white box under the tv.
In that respect, I think it's a great addition to the system, but most of the gamers that already play their 360 a lot are probably going to get little use out of it.

single word posts are quite good enough, Mr. Logan. However, to avoid any further conflict, I will be including this quote in all my future posts:

"Brevity is the soul of wit, And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes..." -Hamlet Act II, Scene III

Can't say that I do. I feel as though it is a very underpowered system that got by on nothing but a gimmick.

Good to know we are almost completely on the same page. I suppose that all some people want is a gimmick, or are too stupid (or unlearned) to know that there is better out there.

Downfall of humanity? I think so.
