Do you think Reach will be the last Halo game?

I hope so. I mean I played Halo 3 and it was ok I guess. It was playable but there was just nothing special about it even in the multiplayer (which I've heard is highly praised). And I agree with Yahtzee: if a game can't stand up on single player AT LEAST then it shouldn't even have a single player mode it should be online multiplayer like TF2.

I think that there are legitimate reasons for disliking the Halo franchise not just for what it is but for what it did to first person shooters. There are a lot shooters out there that are at least inspired by Halo that it's even affected the Turok games. If Halo ends then maybe we'll see some more creativity in first person shooters.

When there's still going to be money to be made? Hell no, the fan base is bigger then most religions and they have kept stating this since they announced Halo 3.

It's like the Rolling Stones going on a farewell tour and actually meaning it, it's not going to happen.

Sure it will be...*rolls eyes* And Half Life 2: Episode 3 will be worth the wait. And unicorns will fly in the skies above, creating world peace.

Since it was announced that this was Bungie's last Halo game, I think that if another one of these games is produced by a different developer, it would be a bad idea. I mean, in my opinion, the Halo games created by Bungie have within them a creative spark, which is missing from many games. And I think that this spark cannot be replicated.

Still, by 2012 we could have some crap like 'Mega Halo Awesomeness Yay 2: Revenge of the Chief's Face', or something. And it would be developed by Capcom. And it would suck.

I doubt it. It'll be the last Bungie Halo game, but Microsoft, willing to part with its biggest selling baby? I highy doubt it...
I second this. I'm sure Bungie's staff is more than ready to move on to something new for a goddamn change, so as far as I'm aware, this is the last Bungie-made Halo game. Of course, you can't rely on Microsoft to let the series go with dignity and grace that Reach will hopefully provide, so I'm more than willing to bet that the Halo series will be milked beyong death, until a withered corpse of a good game series one existed.

Do you? I don't. There is too much money in it to stop.
Did you really need to ask that question? Really, deep down in your heart did you really need to ask if MICROSOFT would arbitrarily end it's most profitable entertainment franchise ever because the original devloper no longer wishes to do it after cranking out two more games than they originally intended?

Seriously man, some questions do not need to be asked.

Bungie is already working on other projects. Microsoft already set up a studio to do things with the Halo franchise without Bungie. In short; Bungie will not be making more Halo games, but there will be more.

Are you kidding? There is way too much money involved for them to want to stop.

HEY! That's Sas's job to post Scrubs video's!

OT: Nope, as long as halo makes money, we will never see the end of it. Or, well we will be seeing it for a long time.

As has been said, it will be Bungie's last Halo game, but the last Halo game ever? Hell no.

Microsoft set up a division, 343 Industries, specifically tasked with producing products in the Halo franchise - there is no way they're going to stop producing Halo content just because Bungie is moving onto new things (not necessarily better things, but I do look forward to seeing what they come up with).

Too bad really, I'm sure Microsoft is just going to drag out the series with mediocre spin-off after mediocre spin-off, leaving fans with a bitter taste in their mouths, and completely destroying the brand's credibility.
