Do you think seduction could be a form of rape?

...What? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Of course it's not rape, the other person is willingly consenting. If you persuade somebody in their right mind to lend you twenty bucks, you're not stealing from them.

No, anyone who thinks so isn't really being honest with themselves. Seduction while when used to get sex from someone who normally wouldn't want to have sex with you is not ethically sound it's not against the law. You agreed to it, now live with the consequences.

no, because otherwise we would end up with people accusing each other of rape because shit happens down the line. This may take up shitloads of time for police and courts and will invalidate real rape allegation which sucks even more.

As far as I know there's no-one on the planet who's so attractive or seductive that it's literally impossible to say no to them.
It's a curse that I must bear, sadly enough.

OT: No.

Yeah, don't have much to add. Just no. That's not what rape is.

No, seduction is not rape. If you're seduced and regret it later, it's because you made a shit decision. Bad luck. When a responsible adult makes a mistake, they ought to own it.

"Damn, shouldn't have done that. I'm upset, but it was my bad call."

Don't try to blame the other party; saying that a seducer is like to a rapist is absurd.

Having sex with an unwilling person is a rape. But the whole point of "seducing" is to make the other person want to have sex, thus I wouldn't call it a rape.

Seduction isn't even non-ethical. It's the mating dance between humans when one wants to fuck and the other doesn't know if they do.

If the no was a definitive 'No, I do not find you attractive' then seduction becomes impossible.

Seduction might be the female version of rape. Seeing a woman's mind is stronger than the other and will put him to shame.

But then, rape traumatizes a person and is illegal. There's no law against seduction.
Not to be pedantic, but the "female" version of rape, is rape. Anyone of any gender/sex can rape anyone of any gender/sex. Plus, genders other than women can seduce people.
Great and subtle of plural. Really tickled my sense of humour.

OT: No it's not though getting someone drunk who would otherwise not have sex with you just to do that hardly seems ethical. I'm not sure what the legal stance is. Must depende on the nation or state etc.

*pffffttt* No. Not at all. That's... no. It's not rape. Rape is forced sex. Making a bad decision is not rape.

No. Seduction between adults implies consent on both sides. If someone is "seduced" using coercion, peer pressure or anything else, it ceases to BE seduction.

Failed seduction attempts might lead to rape, but that's different.

As long as its not a forced yes answer.. the person made the decision of their own accord its not rape imo.

I've never encountered anyone who's got any problem with saying no even when someone tries to seduce them, neither guy or girl. If people say yes when someone tries to seduce them, chances are pretty good that they want to have sex with that person either way.

Exactly where did that idea come from?

Seduction is generally unethical but it's not rape.
Anytime you've ever had sex with anyone it is because of seduction, so I don't see how it is unethical.
se·duce   [si-doos, -dyoos] Show IPA

1.
to lead astray, as from duty, rectitude, or the like; corrupt.
2.
to persuade or induce to have sexual intercourse.
3.
to lead or draw away, as from principles, faith, or allegiance: He was seduced by the prospect of gain.
4.

2. To persuade or induce to have sexual intercourse...I don't see how persuading someone to sleep with you is unethical.

Just because you can't keep it in your pants, doesn't mean you were raped. Also, and this is to both genders, if you consent and then regret it in the morning, you weren't raped. We really need to get rid of this whole thing where women can just flat out decide they were raped just because they regretted having sex with someone.

Absolutely not. I'd rather have been 'seduced'. That's my argument - life experience.

Sorry for the lack of opinion, but I think it says enough.
