nope. I have too much fun with my geeky life styles. I enjoy the more popular stufftoo. Not going to beat around the bush and try to hide from bigots too wrapped up in sex drugs beer and sports to enjoy other things. I love tradingcard games and Dungeons and Dragons. I'm studying fr BS in Comp Sci too.

Nope, but it always leads to the "waitwut?" in other ppl
yeah I love doing that to people. One day me and a couple of friend, one was a gamer like me, somehow got in a conversationabout cake. So I decide to make the famous quote,"the cake is a lie". My gamer friend liked, but the other two just stars at me with a confused WTF look.priceless.

OT:Why the hell should I?!

I only hide it when seems the prudent thing to do. Pretty much 99% of the people who know me are as geeky as I am if not more so.

I hide everything about my personality including hobbies and interests... I'm very self conscious IRL...

You came to a (generally-oriented) video game board and expected any other responses other than no? Be proud of who you are, (as I can see you are) and fuck everyone else. I'm a geek, my friends know it because they are geeks too, anybody else that would like to be my friend will know this prior. I joke about video games, I talk about them, a lot of my life has had video games in it at some point or another.

If people can't take a joke that they don't understand, God forbid you tell a joke that has a little more intelligence behind besides "the cake is a lie."

I wouldn't say geeky. I'm fine with people thinking I'm a geek.

I'll confide in you, Escapist. I've watched a few anime, and I thought they were good.

I wouldn't ever admit this out loud, of course. I've built up a staunch reputation as someone who hates all things otaku and anime-esque. I still hate the most of them, mind you, but I hate to admit there are a few exceptions.

And no, it's not your favorite show. Your favorite show is terrible.

When it's appropriate. Sometimes, it just isn't the right time to talk about videogames and Dungeons and Dragons, but as a general rule, books and movies are always safe "geeky" topics.

That said, there was a school function I attended that eventually turned into a discussion of Greek tragedy and its use in modern television and film.

No but I don't show it because no one will really get it and I don't really want to waste time explaining.

Offline? Absolutely. But then again, offline I don't think of myself as a geek.

Why hide what you are? I'm a geek, a dork, a nerd, and I'm damn proud. :p I don't hide it, per se, but I tend to not make a big deal out of it either, since I think that's equally obnoxious.

I don't hide it, but at the same time, I don't broadca--

Well, I don't usually broadcast it. If people see the shirt, I normally get a "Nice shirt" and have only once ran into someone who knew that it was a meme.

I have to maintain a professional persona at times, but other than that no I don't. There is a time and a place for everything but no I've long given up on trying to pretend I'm something that I'm not.

I don't hide it, but I do keep it amongst those who would actually understand it. I've always found it quite silly when people drop names, trivia, etc. and then act all superior when those around them don't "get it" when the speaker knew all along they wouldn't get it.

I try not to hide it in public or with friends... But if a repair dude or cable person comes over, I usually hide all my stuff...
