Do you use the TV for background noise while on the computer?

If I'm waitng for a game to install, an antivirus/malware scan to run, playing the sims or There's a long streatch of inaction on Total War then sure but if I want background noise when I'm browsing or playing solitaire I just put some music on.

I don't, I really don't see the point. I'm focused on being on the computer, so why should I make noise with something I'm not going to watch anyway?

However, my dad turns the TV on whenever he's on the computer. I swear he doesn't pay attention to it at all, or he doesn't have and sort of upper limit to the amount of cop dramas (read: Law and Order and Bones) that he can watch on a daily basis. And it's always so loud. >.<

Mainly online radio or old podcasts, there's something much nicer about hearing the gentle flow of friendly voices over whatever's on TV, at least to me.

Na i have something playing on a 2nd screen on my pc usually or my itunes blaring.
In fact i rarely use my tv at all these days, my wii is so neglected

Also on topic I sometimes watch a TV show on my computer and then play it over and over for an hour or 2 sometimes.

Sometimes. Other times, I just listen to music on Youtube. Like right now, I've go the theme to Cowboy Bebop playing in the background.

I use BBC Radio 4 in my kitchen which is in the room next to me.
Or on the radio on my desk if it's something I want to listen too.

The thing with the TV is that if it sounds good, I need to walk round a wall to look at it which is really irritating. >.<

Depends on what I'm doing. Usually I listen to music if I'm just on The Escapist of whatever. But if I'm doing work then background TV is less distracting than metal
