I'm not much of a car guy, don't go asking me about what car is what good sir!

But i still watch it and really enjoy the show, i particulary like when they do all the trips and silly stuff like making boat cars.

THE STIG!

The stig is honestly the coolest figure of all TV history. Setting aside the banter, the crazy activities and challenges, the stig is my favorite part of the show. Partially because of what he can do outside of Top Gear. Like when he received the award from the British national TV awards. "remember to put the award in his right hand because the left on is magnetic, also, keep him away from the cast of corrination street, he has got it in his head that northerners are edible.

Nope. i'm not 'that guy'. i don't have any interest in car shows.

at least it's not NASCAR though. i just see that as an ENORMOUS waste of gasoline and high-grade machine parts.

I hate it. Sorry guys, but I don't give a damn about cars.

You can tell that these people don't watch it, because they think it's a car show. Top Gear isn't a car show. It's a show about 3 middle aged men who have a large budget and happen to like cars. But anybody who thinks that a show where they test how well a Ford Focus can hold up in an amphibious assault with the Royal Marines or if a Toyota Hilux is tough enough to survive being parked on top of a high-rise that is then blown up is a "car show" needs to have their head examined. The show is more of an upper class Jackass than anything else.
i have watched Top Gear. i saw them make a minivan limo, i saw them race airport cars, i've seen them test various models or vehicles. so, yes, if the premise is centered on cars, their inner workings, and how to use them, it is in fact a car show.

This article has already paid for itself [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.198484-Probing-The-Inaccuracies-Motorsport]. I'm not a fan of NASCAR, either, but if you attack any sort of motorsport for being "a waste of petrol" or anything else like that, feel ready to receive some wrath.
i have respect for F1, Rally and the like, don't get me wrong. i just see that one version of car racing as a waste. all that tech, petrol, and science could be put into making something worthwhile.

and i don't care how big your e-peen is, don't threaten people over stupid shit. you will just look like a jackass.

I think that's sort of like saying that Burn Notice (to tie this into another running topic in this thread) is a spy show. Sure, it's factually correct and technically right, but it doesn't not actually catch on to the show.

But whatever, you've seen it and you didn't like it. That's fair.

I'm not a big car fan, but I love watching Top Gear.

Top Gear is at its best when its doing the stupid road tests and challenges. Its just the complete over the top nature of the show which makes its so good, such as when Clackson tested a Ford Fiesta and its viability as a beach assault vehicle with the Royal Marines, among other tests.

The reliant Robin bit last week was also brilliant.

Uhhhh... Yeah, but it is still about cars. Maybe they do awesome stuff to the cars, but it is still a show, about cars.

I watch it. What other show has Daleks racing against Cybermen, Klingons, and Darth Vader?
