I really enjoyed this year's special. It felt Christmassy and yet not cheesy, fun but not over the top.".
I'm sorry, are you kidding me? Really? Riding a flying shark in the snow that was caused by Katherine Jenkins singing into half of a sonic screwdriver isn't over the top? And the 'oh now you've become nice the isomorphic machine can't recognise you' isn't just cheese, it's a rich, creamy camembert.
I think the point that almost ruined it for me was the shark sleigh ride. Katherine Jenkins singing I didn't mind as she has a decent voice, but the shark felt like it was thrown in because they were scared the little kiddies would lose interest. Cut that scene out and it would be the best christmas episode.

I was so happy that Amy was barely in it. When she had lines I was gritting my teeth... do. not. like. her.
Just focus on the legs and all will be ok.

It was alright, but I've never been big on it since the re boot. Nothing against Smith (although I did like Tennant), I just found it kind of... meh. And why is everything set on Earth?
Erm, It wasn't set on Earth. In general it's set in present-day Earth because it's the most believable setting. They can always tell us it's a far-away planet, but there's no escaping that quarry in Cardiff. See? You can make a more believable backdrop with Earth... Although, being believable hardly holds back doctor who at all...

Still not as good as the Russell T Davies episodes, but I enjoyed it.

lots of plot holes though =/
You're entitled to your opinion, but you want to find a hole that we can plug? I'm sure it's a lot easier than half of London getting destroyed by a CyberKing controlled by a whore that no-one remembers.

Also. New Adventure Game! Going to download now.
Shadows of the Vashta Nerada? You're not going to believe why they're upset. I admit to squealing when I heard it was...

Yes the new season has me exited and yes I enjoyed the sharks and things in this episode... but really there was just an unpleasant level of cheesiness.

Yeah, but it was. They can give it another name, but it was set on Earth really. And I get about being believable, but that didn't stop the older episodes from going to other worlds. I find it more hard to believe that a man with the power to travel through time and space always ends up on Earth or another planet that looks exactly the same as Earth. I know that not all episodes are on Earth, but the vast majority.
It's called only having a limited special effects budget. The Old Who used to run on £50 an episode.

Hated it. It was so stupid. Seriously really stupid. :(
Any particular reason for that opinion?
It didn't make sense, it ruined Dicken's actually decent classic and I can't think of anything else xD

It went off shortly after starting.

Matt Smith is a poor actor, don't even get me started on the sidekick. Urgh.

Yeah... sorry, I don't understand. They have more money now, but the Old Who managed to go to different worlds on £50... I don't see your argument.
Because the quarries that Blake's 7, The Tomorrow People and Doctor Who only used to cost a pint to the foreman. Now they've got half a ton of gear, health and safety, makeup etc.

Not the best episode i've seen, but still some nice one liners in there (eg. the lottery!).

Did anyone else notice that the number of people on the ship crashing changed within the first 10 minutes from 4003 to 4004??

:O HOW DARE YOU?! Matt smith is my favourite doctor so far. I couldn't stand the 9th doctor and david tennant relied too much on going "oohhhh yes!" and running off =_=. Also Amy pond has been the least annoying sidekick ... although that could be because of smexyness...

All she does is scream. The woman can't act for toffee. :(. I really don't like Smith as the Doctor. Tennant was much better.

I absolutely LOVED it. Stephen Moffat, master writer that he is, has proven that a story that's been retold time and time again can still be retold in a way that's just as magical and heart-tugging as the original.

And Season 6 looks...fantastic!

I completely agree with this. Compared to the Doctor's last full time companion, Donna, Amy is like a godess!
