They're back? Awesome.
Did anyone get the feeling that
Bernard Cribbins may just very well be another Time Lord?

Plus I think Matt Smith is only a "Filler" actor:
David Tennant is, soon to be "was" an awesome doctor.
If the Beeb hired a big actor - people would compare to Tennant = dissapointed
David Tennant, followed by a shit, ugly, talentless hack (for 1 or 2 series) who is THEN followed by a talented, famous actor means they're more likely to be seen as a brilliant doctor! :D

ROWAN ATKINSON FOR 12th DOCTOR.

I'll probably be a bit sad with the new Doctor.
Maybe there'll be a plot twish and the good Doctor won't die!
Hey, a guy can hope.

Why? They didn't have a decent excuse to kill them off in the first place...

When they revived the series, they wanted something dramatic. So they went on a variation of 'Everyone's dead, Dave'. Now they're bringing them back. I for one am excited! =]

13th. Considering that the assumed limit a time lord can regenerate is 12 times, then the 13th Doctor would be the last one. And I'd like to see the entire series end with a great Doctor.

Unless they start making the Doctor circumvent the limit like the Master does.

I thought so for a bit, but he got the visions like everyone else, so I dunno. I think he's going to end up shooting the Doctor though.

Watching it now, really am not looking forward to the new doctor
Neither am I, David Tennant has such charm and flair, that I don't think the new Doctor will ever live up to. Still, I'll give him a chance.
Yeah I suppose, but have you seen the new Doctor? Plus the shoes he's going to have to fill. Call me pessimistic but I don't think he's going to be nearly as good as David. Ah well, we'll have to see

Oh yes <3

And I can see them coming up with some way of doing that, easily.

Sadly, my enjoyment of this episode was spoiled from the outset as I REALLY HATE John Sim as The Master. We already have The Doctor being all hyper and it would have been nice if they'd kept Derek Jacobi as The MAster to have a contrast. Instead its all hyper, all the time which gets in my nerves a bit.

I think my favourite thing about the episode was that it was a slow burner. It kept things at a slow pace for the majority of the episode building the tension and they mostly succeeded. Tennent was amazing as usual as The Doctor and all hail Bernard Cribbins as a cool old guy.

Rest of my thoughts spoilered.

I really didn't like the end of the episode. While it was obvious that The Master would use the machine, I was really hoping they would use it as an excuse to bring back the Time Lords either by having the machine be one that tore a hole in reality, or by The Master using his genetic code and mind to change the Earth into a new Gallifrey. The idea of putting up with a Doctor Who episode with everyone on Earth being John Sim, even though we get Donna and the Time Lords back, is not a pleasent one.

The return of the Time Lords is something I've been expecting for a while (wish I'd nipped to the betting shop now!) and I suppose the fact they are essentially rebooting everything next series meant bringing them back now was the best time as it would mean Stephen Moffet would have them to use. Also, who wants to bet that the women who appears to Wilfred is The Rani?

I've just watched The End Of Time, thought it was interesting? Anyone else watch it?
*sigh*

I feel a rant coming on so I won't say more than "Doctor Who shouldn't be just 'interesting'"

Go on. Your last one regarding the 2nd special was very entertaining.

It started out with slow nonsense, gave some dull characters a 5 minute warning, went absolutely bonkers, brought in a random character, copied the matrix and then kicked all four previous series in the privates.

On the Matty issue, I think you've just gotta trust Moffat. I mean, face it - he's the best guy on the writing team, having produced some of the best episodes (imo) and he's probably had a good look into Smith and his talent before even considering the job.

When I was watching it my older brother made an awesome comment at the part where they
were showing everyone as the Master, how he looked good in all those different clothes, also I was expecting a bring the Timelords back episode, just not this one, so that came as a big surprise for me.

And finally did anyone else notice the random wall kick?

My thoughts exactly :p
Are you a Time Lord? I think we are psychically linked! :p
I really hope he isn't a Time Lord as that would just feel like a massive cop out. Having him as a cool old guy is far more interesting.

That was nót what I expected, I was totally prepared for him to die, like I was with the previous special.

Well, only a week or so until part two, I don't want you to go Tennant, STAY WITH US!!!

True, he does encapsulate the human race for the Doctor
