River did not die in this.
What are you on about?
The TARDIS exploded. She was inside it. I'd like to know how she didn't die.

Either that or it didn't explode, in which case why was the universe blinking out at the end of episode?

Final conclusion, it exploded, and somehow she survived, which would require a writer's ass-pull of the sort which would destroy any lingering remnants of credibility.

She might still have the Vortex Manipulator she used to find the Doctor to begin with...

The Tardis was already exploded from the start of this series. The cracks you know.
Maybe from Rivers point of view it has not yet happened.
If the TARDIS did explode I am sure the producers would want us to see it, as it would be spectacular.
I think they will stop it from happening just in time, so what we see at the end of this episode never happends.
At any rate: I thought that it was just the ships leaving at the end when I saw it :p
Silly me.

Ending made me say What. The. Fack.

How can they come back from
every single star supernova'ing destroying the whole of existance?

Also, what did the stone wall infront of the TARDIS door mean?
that she couldn't leave to have the engines automatically shut down...

though they HAVE to come back to it because of river meeting the doctor later in her time line, but earlier in his timeline, blah blah blah... plus the whole... main protagonist stuff... problem is that they'll solve the "we're all dead" thing within the first 5 minutes of the next episode

AND

and fine, it wasn't omega inside the pandorica, but (hopefully) he (it?) might be the one behind it all (aka: the voice saying "the silence will fall")

Gonna have to be the first minute or it'll be a very short show. ;)

I'm still sticking with my idea that
The TARDIS is actually the Big Bang...this isn't the end, it's the start...
Also, either Amy, The Doctor or River are actually duplicates who THINK they're the real thing.

im hoping for a "end of mass effect one" ending where the good guy fleet jumps in to save the day and then after destroying the bad fleet (or distracting it) they let the doctor out who then saves the day by {CONTENT BLOCKED IN YOUR COUNTRY BY WMG}

Amy doesn't die, Karen Gillan's contract lasts into 2011.
That doesn't mean Amy doesn't die...
It'd be kinda an ass pull if she had a whole seasons contract of just flashbacks/recordings.
Unless Amy Pond is
River Song's regeneration?

How's that for a curve ball?
We already know how river dies though, remember? Although, wibbly-wobbly, I spose.Unless you mean Amy regens into river, which also wouldn't work, because I think, could be wrong, that time lords are never children.

now THAT's going to be far more cinematic and rediculously more visually... exhilarating, but it'd just be too predictable (given that i've seen like... 50 people on this topic alone suggest it)

You see a scene from the Master's childhood in The Sound of Drums so they do in fact start off as kids. Not sure how the ageing thing works though.

I still don't think River Song is a Time Lady. It just doesn't fit

She doesn't have to be. There are others that can regenerate.

Anyway, that's just a curve ball.

There's a number of ways that I can see this playing out though.

1. Rory takes Amy to the crack, crack annhilates Amy, trap is never sprung.
2. The Pandorica is immune to the Temporal collapse (all those locks) and Hope (The Doctor) remains to rebuild the Universe. (Big Bang Theory)
3. It's all a Dream from the DreamLord (Oh, how the fans will rage)
4. It's a duplicate River/Amy/Doctor/TARDIS. (Note how Vincent's picture shows the TARDIS explode in space)
5. From the Pandora's Box Legend : Hesiod's "Works and Days"
"But the woman took off the great lid of the jar with her hands [95] and scattered, all these and her thought caused sorrow and mischief to men. Only Hope remained there in an unbreakable home within under the rim of the great jar, and did not fly out at the door; for ere that, the lid of the jar stopped her, by the will of Aegis-holding Zeus who gathers the clouds. [100] But the rest, countless plagues, wander amongst men; for earth is full of evils, and the sea is full. Of themselves diseases come upon men continually by day and by night, bringing mischief to mortals silently; for wise Zeus took away speech from them."
Sound like "silence will be had" to you? Perhaps the Pandorica is there to PROTECT the Doctor...
6. I'm sure I'll think of more later this week :)
