so maybe i was just seeing things (ill have to rematch to double check) but i thought of Amy being pregnant the moment she started holding her stomach in the white-house...

and yet no one has mentioned that River did the very same thing later on in the episode?

at least i am pretty sure she did that.. did anyone else notice that or am i just crazy?

river tries to shoot the astronaut, as it walks back into the lake..
then stops when the gun runs out, and says '' of corse not '', what is that suppose to mean ?

when the doctor did get killed, amy ran cause she was upset, and river just stood and tried to help amy.. differnt emotions ?

but can have as many regenerations as he likes..
so even if the doctor did get shot, he would have came back to life, because he has only used 1 life.

Ok, I'm extremely angry at you. Not for that, ok, a bit for that, but for making me defend this shitty country. That is not fetishism. It's using a location for a plot. Yes, they used Nixon and the White House. So? They used them for a plot. Yes, they used an FBI agent (former) and made him a companion. He's a former FBI agent, doesn't like the president, and is pretty much a normal human being. It is not fetishism to use a location as a plot and use people who would logically be there for it. As for The Doctor liking America, seriously? He's only allowed to like one country on his favorite planet? Seriously?

If anything that just proves it- its an English show for English people by English people and Fox should have no interest in the bloody thing.

And what's more there was a faint undercurrent of that "yee haw! land of the free, home of the brave" BS running throughout the whole show- thats what I meant by fetishism.

Just finished watching it, came straight here. Anyone else recognize the Alien Tardis from the season 5 episode "The Lodger"? I fucking KNEW that thing would be back. I guess we know it doesn't end well for the Silent, though. I mean, if their ship ends up some 50 years in the future, unmanned and pretending to be the second floor of an apartment.

Also, for people complaining that the Doctor shouldn't be able to interfere with his own personal timeline:
A) Why not? I guess it's because I didn't watch the original series, but I thought the gist of was that it's a bad idea to interfere with your timeline, but it wasn't impossible. You know, because weird dragon things from Hell will appear and start attacking.
B) Clearly there's a lot that Future Doctor knew that we don't. I mean, what's wrong with trying to prevent your death if you're the one who(pretty much) arranged your death in the first place?

And again: THEY'RE BUILDING A TARDIS!!!

i never really understood why people complain about that either, ESPECIALLY when we have a history of the Doctor screwing with his own time-line in ways that make what he did in series 5-6 look amateur...

so yeah the Doctor and the universe have survived just fine with the Doctor interacting with his past incarnations so i think any interactions with his former self in HIS OWN incarnation is pretty tame...just saying

also i really wish i could see these episodes i heard they are kick ass, really need to find a site of something that archives the classics than hibernate while i catch up on the old continuity. =P

Because it is 12 regenerations for a start also the doctor himself says he can only die once as do River and the Master.

Although I will admit that the Master got around the max number so they will probably do the same for the doctor when the time comes.

After this finished I was just thinking how stuff with River Song is starting to fall in place, like when she says eventually the Doctor will look into her eyes and have no clue who she is. Which references when they were in the Library. So many questions..............GO FASTER TIME! ME CAN'T WAIT!. Excuse that moment, but I love this show.

Only complaint - why was Amy telling the Doctor she was pregnant such a big deal?

Most of the time when this comes out it basically means
OH CRAP WE HAVE TO BE ULTRA CAREFUL SHE DOESN'T DIE NOW
If you're not that into babies then I can see why you didn't think that's a big deal, though (I know I'm not).

Little girl in the spacesuit = Amys Child. We'll see!

I thought that, not too sure how it'd fit in though so I think it's more likely it'll be a case of the girl being a metaphor for Amy's child. I reckon if the girl dies from Amy getting shot then Amy will feel uber guilty and think she's not fit for motherhood and go kinda crazy. If the girl survives then Amy's going to be uber protective of her. And possibly still think she's not fit for motherhood 'cause she ALMOST killed her, but when she saves the little girl from a near-fatal event, will realise that she'll actually be a good mother and everyone's happy.
Or something like that.

THAT WAS CRAP!

There was nothing scary, nothing funny, nothing tearjerking, nothing heartwarming, nothing awesome and NOTHING NEW! Previous first episodes have managed at least one of every single type of the above.

That episode is pretty much the worst episode of Doctor Who I have ever watched, and I can even bring a little persepctive to that by saying that in the course of the last couple of weeks I have watched my way through every season of NuWho including all the specials and one offs, and this one was beyond the bottom of the barrel.

Completely assinine and pointless from start to finish and I can only hope that Stephen Moffat actually has something interesting planned for the next few weeks or I may seriously consider just not watching it, which given it has been my only regular tv viewing in the last FIVE YEARS, would be a little unfortunate.

When did Moffat stop being a good writer?

So you weren't shocked when the Doctor was shot mid regeneration and killed instantly?

As I have stated before. I leapt up out of my seat when the Doctor was shot...
Also, CGI is so much better looking so far! the silence lightning actually looked realistic rather than what it looked like last time.

i have to say i was shocked but there is no way they are going to kill off the doctor in this regeneration, hell it seems strange that he would keep the same face for 200 years
