I'm getting a bit tired of this sites hatred for jrpgs. Are there any jrpg fan here including Final fantasy?

There are actually quite a few JRPG fans, they just don't talk much because we know they're good.

I love 'em.

Star Ocean is a particular favorite of mine, and I think Disgaea counts (It's an SRPG but it's from japan...)

There are a lot of people who like JRPG's here (including me) they just aren't as vocal as the haters.

I love me some FFIX.

I like some JRPGs, I'm just really picky. Some of the best ones were from the SNES era, such as Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Mother 2 (earthbound), Final Fantasy 6, Illusion of Gaia and a few others (I haven't had a chanc e to play the Breath of Fire series, so I can't speak for that)

Some of the newer ones are far too flashy and kinda lost themselves in the pretty. For games for other consoles, I am a fan of the pokemon series, and Mother 3 excellent, definitely one of my top favorite RPGs of all time. But a lot of others just haven't really captured me as much.

I rather enjoy JRPGS, however, I havn't really had much experience with them past Star Ocean and Final Fantasy. (Unless you count Pokemon)

Yep, me too. (As if my avatar doesn't give it away.) I love me some Final Fantasy, and I'm usually pretty quick to the defence of them as well.

We're just not as vocal. It's like the PC elitists on this site, that doesn't mean we don't have lots of console lovers as well.

I like a few JRPGs but I usually tend to like WRPGs more. My favorite JRPG is Tales of Symphonia though, love that game.

I like them, well most of them, I have played a few that have disappointed or even confused me. But my first playstation franchise game I got was FF7, last playstation franchise game was FFXIII, I guess that qualifies too.

<color=purple>@ Title: No. Nobody in the entire world likes JRPG's. :p

@ Quote: Actually, I love JRPG's. Tooooooons of them. Final Fantasy especially. XIII was a real treat. Still working on the achievements, but I've been done with the story for some time now. It was great.
Other than that, a few of my favorite JRPG's are, Final Fantasy I and III, Dragon Quest VIII, ummm, the .Hack games and many others I'm not thinking of.

Edit: When I mentioned FF III, I was referring to the actual III. Not the one that America got for Nintendo, but the one that they eventually brought to America as a remake on the DS.

I love JRPGs and I run the FF group with eighty some members so there are quite a few FF fans and probably way more JRPG fans

I find JRPGs tend to come up with better ideas than the Western RPG genericness of tacking a level-up system onto a cover-based FPS or action adventure, or so I've been told, I don't really have much experience with either. I think the Paper Mario trilogy is the only RPG experience I've had that isn't on a Nintendo handheld.

That should tell you everything.
The Mother series is truly one of the best RPG series of all. I know people that dislike JRPGs that still love the Mother series. Goes to show you don't need sex appeal and pretty graphics to make an excellent game.
