I love JRPGs... the format is aging but SquareSoft said that FFXIII will be the last of it's kind as far as Final Fantasy games go. That statement worries me but at the same time, I know they have to change. I love all RPGs for that matter.

I just have to ask one question...

Why is Front Mission: Evolved look so terrible. When I heard Front Mission was coming to PS3 I almost wet myself... but now its just a bad looking Armored Core clone... BAD SQUARE... BAD!

Yes. I love them, then again, I love WRPGs too (God I hate having to lable games, I feel like such a bastard). Thing is, I'm a weird gamer. I love every genre. There isn't a single genre I hate. At all. Hell, I enjoy myself the odd rail-shooter and racing game on occasion. I'd call myself a casual gamer, but my gamerscore and dire number of hours I've put into games convinces me otherwise.

I like JRPG's such as Persona, Disgaea and some of the Final Fantasies (1,3,6,8 and 9) and I still love the Pokemon (I think that can count as a JRPG in the loosest sense) speaking of which, back to Soulsilver!

Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross and Seiken Densetsu 3 are amongst the best games I've ever played(especially CT) so I'll say, yes.

a lot of people on here wish they were yahtzee, so they do the hip thing in hating jrpgs. i like jrpgs, shouldn't hate on a blanket.
Quoted for truth.
I hate most JRPGs.. why? Because of overhyping fanboys, 10 tons of porn "Art" work, and the FACT that a JRPG is about as much an RPG as Call of duty 2.

I think it would be obvious, but yes, I like JRPGs.

Unfortunately I can't think of a way to qualify that with a decent amount of wit.

I'm a big Final Fantasy fan (though I still haven't played any before VII, I must get my hands on the right tech sometime). I think I haven't played enough other JRPGs to be able to tell if I like the whole genre as much.

I've noticed that JRPG discussion does tend to lead to everybody contributing the thing they DON'T like about the games not the things they do, and when you do talk about something you liked you inevitably find someone who hated that very same aspect. I don't know why this should be more true of JRPGs/Final Fantasy than other genres. Even now I'm having to strangle the urge to tell you which was the only FF I've played and not liked and exactly why, even though there's no point.

There are actually quite a few JRPG fans, they just don't talk much because we know they're good.
Exactly It's a mutual respect for the Japs we have.
We just click "I like JRPGs" on every poll and ignore the flamers

what irritates me is the bunch of people who say "JRPGs arent as good as they used to me, and anybody who disagrees is a fanboy with no sense of quality"

and while I do wish there were more traditional RPGs I think that statement is bull

You know, that close up picture of Gigyas made me wonder what would happen if Gigyas took over Silent Hill... *shudders*
Here's a photo of the universe following that:

Yeah, we're pretty much screwed.
