I like it, and I can only imagine it getting better when they release large DLC that's actually worth purchase. Until then, I'll play my Rogue Archer or Mage.

I haven't heard anyone else talking about being an archer. What build did you go with for it? I finished the Archery, Shadow, and Assassin Trees and put enough points in Specialist to get the Speed ability. It was pretty damn effective and fun.

Basically the same thing. Prioritizing crit chance and damage while trying to keep that delicious attack speed. I sacrificed Anders' potential extra damage output to make him pure support. Anything to keep enemies off you so you can maximize damage. Duelist is too much melee, and Shadow has nice passive talents and threat reduction. I am thoroughly enjoying my 2k+ Assassinations.

I liked Dragon Age II. I might try and get back into the spirit of doing user reviews with it, try and keep the writing skills sharp but I probably won't bother.

The best part about it was the characters though. Usually I don't like a character because I'll find them predictable, stereotyped or just generally boring but in this game I didn't like certain characters because I didn't like their personalities (Avaline) or I didn't agree with their opinions (Fenris). That's a pretty good job right there. On that note, Merrill was awesome. I can't stress that enough. I guess I related to her on some basic level. I can't explain why without going into detail about my private life and I don't want to do that on such a public forum so let's leave it at that.

On the whole, the game was good. A few sticking points but no deal breakers and the most fun WRPG I've played probably ever. I don't play many WRPGs though so that's not a big achievement.

Yeah, being able to auto-crit is nice. I never did figure what actually happens during that Assassination animation. I haven't seen it for dual-wielding rogues, but I have a feeling they didn't change it up any for archers.

Anyways I now have medicine for those who like DA2 I just picture them as Sandal in my head and it makes it all better :)
Oooooooooooh. As someone still playing Origins (yeah it takes me a lot longer, I only play games about as much as most watch t.v. say 7-12 hours per week) that's just mean. Can you qualify that statement though? I mean, you've played through it at least once right? What about it really would make you not recommend it to someone or compare anyone who liked it to someone as otherwise abled as Raindwarf?

I wish some stuff carried over from DA:O, but I did like some of the new stuff. Overall my biggest complaint is that the game FEELS shorter then DA:O.

its an ok game. Story is shit, timeskips suck, talents such as reaver and templar are diminished in epicness by not having quests that tie them in nor is the fact that Hawke uses blood magic ever mentioned. Gear is almost a non factior, and the wave system defeats the purpose of taunt and positioning. Bossfights range from stupid easy to easy and most of the implemented mechanics are designed around an action game and this simply does not work that well in Dragon age. Overall it tries to appeal to everyone and sacrifices its identity in the process.

Only thing that saves it is Isabella HERP DERP.
Okay, I remember Isabella as the character who made me a Duelist in Dragon Age, so it's encouraging to at least hear of a familiar character (yes I'm one of those that was bummed that you couldn't continue as the same character) but what is HERP DERP please?

Also could ANYone please help me with where I am stuck in Dragon Age? I am trying to figure out how I failed a quest in the Dwarven City that somehow involved my son? It's called "Of noble blood." and I haven't the faintest idea what it's referring to??!! I have a son? How the hell is he Dwarven? Not that I'm racist it's just that I'm Human and haven't a clue what they are talking about! The completed quest note just says that I failed to give him a chance at a good life, a life he deserves. What?? How??

This is almost as bad as trying to cure that poisoned noble but not being able to find that "quest note" anywhere in the entire games encyclopedia so I thought it was a bug, then I went to make some potions with Wynne and realized that sometimes a recipe is just that. A recipe. *sigh*

I thought that the combat improvements were fantastic, but story and presentation were lackluster. Regardless, I liked it.

Can't wait to go for my 2nd playthrough soon. I think I'll try mage next. Definitely 9/10.
