Yes this exact same thing happened to me, even my best friends who used to be on it all the time rarely use it now and I find its harder to get in touch with people MSN used to make it easy with, basically social networking has destroyed it when all social networking really is, is non instant messaging, basically its a step backwards.

Yes I do. Not as the social tool that sucks away all your free time as a teenager, but to catch up with people that I don't see every day, or too discuss something with people that could also have been discussed on phone or via text-message - only without the bills.

Oh, and I also use it to keep in touch with people who I have only met online. There is nothing like an e3-conference that is seen while rambling fanboy stuff to other fanboys.

Well, here in Argentina, MSN is still very popular. I don't know about the US or the rest of the world, but since I've been here, I've been accustomed to having my MSN open at all times, even if Facebook does have that integrated chat system. Something that has been dead for sometime for me though, is definitely AIM. I haven't used that in years.

Personally, I use Skype, just cause I find it far superior to MSN. MSN takes longer to load up for me and Skype has the advantage of being able to make normal/video calls, screen-share etc. I know several people who are still using MSN, but it's more of an old habit than anything else and several even switched over to Skype.

I'm signed in to it right now. I still use it quite a bit, though I also use Twitter, Facebook chat, and text messaging a lot as well.

I still use mine every day. I have an account for work, and people I don't care about that want to talk to me on there. And then I have a private one for the people I actually want to talk to.

You know what, I haven't been on MSN in forever. I guess I did stop using it. Sometimes I will use it to speak to somebody for a second, like if I forgot their phone number, but that is it.

I never used MSN I always hated it because I couldn't install it without installing IE. However at my school everyone used AIM, but no one signs on anymore. They've all gone to facebook. The part that annoys me is when they say they can't contact me online because I don't have a facebook. I have the same AIM screenname for the past 5 years and I'm always online, it's not that hard to talk to me.

I've used MSN for over a decade and I don't see myself changing away from it anytime soon. It honestly surprises me that this is a question. It's still very popular far more than Yahoo! or Skype from what I can see.

And seriously... Facebook chat? Fuck Facebook chat. It's the buggiest piece of shit I ever used. It dies on its arse almost without fail a mere 5 lines into a conversation. Fuck it. Fuck it right in the ear.
