I quite enjoyed Mirror's Edge 1. The gameplay got really fun when I settled myself in. The story and the overall everything could be polished and I'd love to see it polished.

(Granted, I wouldn't spend 50 bucks for it, I'd wait for a steam sale.)

Less combat, a freeroam option or 'freerunning playground' type level for when we get bored, proper multiplayer, co-op levels and races would be awesome, but id settle for just taking it in turns to get the fastest time, or a baton race sort of thing, a versus mode would be INTERESTING but flawed.

Any news post on here could tell you that people want Mirrors Edge 2. Game is so awesome. Definitely needs and deserves a sequel.

Gonna say yes to this. Loved the first one and although it may have been flawed it allowed them to experiment with something different and hopefully a sequel can allow them to improve on what they got wrong the first time.

Heres hoping for free running on open maps and less weapon combat(or no combat at all for that matter)

Oh and hopefully they'll not just ditch the bags this time. Would have been cool to see some courier missions.

"quoted AC10"

"I would love a second one... so long as they don't "make it more accessible"."

The game wasn't named anything connecting to the characters [would suck if they called the game "leap of Faith" or something], so a sequel with all new characters and a completely different storyline, [and less combat] would be great! OOOH!! OR if we could customize our runner!... plus, I kinda wanted to know more about the other runners. Also, I strongly agree with the whole mirror's edge 2 free world style like assassins creed 2... in fact, we should just make this game ourselves.

I loved Mirror's Edge to death. Despite the short campaign, it was the time trials that gave me a ton of replay value. I played the shit out of Mirrors Edge(42 hours) and I would gladly buy the sequel. On one condition. They don't get rid of anything or make anything easier. They can add stuff all they want but if they start making some things too easy it's going to take all the fun away. I liked the challenge of finding the quickest(or most fun) path to take and the challenge of executing the maneuvers in that path. Also, I whole-heartedly agree that a free-roam multiplayer mode would be absolutely awesome if they could pull it off.

If they make a second one, I'll play it. If not, I'll be content with what they've produced already. It was a solid game with intriguing ideas, and that's all it ever needed to be.

I hope the people who want to make the sequel get to make it. Projects where the developers really care about them turn out the best products.

firstly i'd like to say that damn right id like a sequel - i followed the game during development after i saw an article in edge about it - i'll never forget the first time i played the demo - it seemed to make so much sense, i love the first person view point and the control system seemed to work perfectly. BUT.... if they do make a sequel i would want to see them utilise some sort of "sticky aim" sytem like most FPS games use for their shooting - but for your aim whilst jumping, to provide that little bit of assistance when you miss a ledge or pole because you aim a milimetre to the left or right it. also auto opening doors and a slightyl kinder collision detection system would be nice. Obviously it would be wonderful if they could put together a GTA/Assasins Creed style city, but i do respect that that would be awfully difficult considering the kind of game we're talking about here - the first game worked best when you found just the right path through an area and got into the "flow" of things, which would be incredibly difficult to acomplish if you werent funneling a player down a particular route.
co op would be insane, as would races on "circuits" like the first games DLC. that would rock about as hard as possible.

Yes. Plain and simple.

And if you want proof of Mirror's Edge 2 just take a look at the first scene in the new Frostbite 2.0 trailer.

Yes but with a few conditions, I'd rather see combat improved than removed completely but still keep more emphasis on hand to hand, maybe add some stealth elements, but most importantly add a proper level editor.

Yes but please don't waste time adding any multiplayer or trying to make it sandbox. Just have large, sprawling levels which allow for several different paths to be taken, but are otherwise linear in terms of story. This sort of game would benefit most from an interweaving of freestyle gameplay and scripting to create dramatic tension.

Otherwise, keep the engine and visual aesthetic. Keep the control system and try not to add new moves to it (the game doesn't need them), instead just make it more responive or try and lessen the chance your character doesn't grab onto something when they really should.
Also a story would be nice, as would be some fleshed-out character(s).

I loved the hell out of it. I was flawed, in several significant ways, but the core mechanic was just too much fun to complain about the rest too much. I should really pick it up again... but seriously, they need to open up the levels, get rid of the combat, and fire their old story writer (or hire one in the first place, as the case seems to be). And make it more than 6 hours long.
