It doesn't matter that much but I hope to expect that when I stab someone there will be some kind of wound/blood not nothing and not AHHHH BLOOD EVERYWHERE GORE EXPLOSION

No, it's not necessary...but it is, for me, nice to have.

It's always odd and a little disappointing to rip into someone with a battle-axe and have them just ragdoll-ize on the floor. (ala Oblivion)

yes,the more blood & gore there is,the more pleasure you get from killing someone and if you disagree with me on this one,you are probably one of those ponseys who cant stand seeing blood or internal organs

I like a good dose of gore, it makes weapons feel more powerful and gameplay more viceral, I think games where your killing stuff should contain gore, Halo for example really annoys me, because its not like your shooting the person, its like your shooting some sort of magical "flail away and flop around lose motor control" weapon at them. rather then killing them with bullets.

If its realistic and not over the top then yes its fine.

Doesn't really matter but in games like ME2TW I'd like more, in RoN I think its just right, usually they have the blood on/off option so its all up to personal preference. Personally, I like it turned on.

There can never be too much, but DA:O was just a bit silly about it.

There can be too little, however.

Depends on my mood at the time. Sometimes I will feel angry and stressed causing me to want to find a group of people in a game, get out the best weapon I have, and offload it on innocent Civilians. But when not in that mood, I usually prefer little to no gore for some reason. It's like every inch of the violence works out of my system during those little outbursts.

Yes, and no.

Some times, in games like L4D, or UT it's nearly required to be full/near full.

While some games like CoD 4, only need some, infact very little.

While some like Hello Kitty adventure island 21 Need a pocket dimesnion filled with blood, and everytime someone does something "Cute", they EXPLODE a lake of blood.

Yes it does matter...well at least to me.
I'm not saying that every game needs to be so pumped with blood&gore that it oozes out of the game and stains the carpet, but... There should be enough.
(Enough = a appropriate amount that adds realism and enjoyment to the game)

If you cut someones head off in....lets say Ninja Gaiden, then you should be blood squirting out of his opponent's decapitated body. On the other hand,if its a racing game like need for speed most wanted, its not needed as much.

Yea, if I'm going to kill someone, I want to KNOW they are dead.
agreed.
I used to not care about blood,
until i played a game....can't seem to remember what it was.....
and I kept thinking i had killed people, only to walk past them and get shot from behind.
All because I couldn't tell if my bullets hit or not.

Aside from that, i find the blood to be entertaining.
Games like Wolfenstein had perfect amounts of blood, in my opinion.
Enough that it was humiliating to see their mangled corpse,
but not too much that it was unrecognizable.
Like Gears of War, for example.

For me, gore does matter depending on the kind of game it is. For games like God of War, it's an absolute must (Impalments, decapitations, eviscerations, gouging, terminal blade blowjob). But for games like Call of Duty, not so much (little blood splatters suffice). So does the amount of gore matter to you in a game?
Not unless it's absolutely part of the story (ala Dead Space or Left4Dead2).
In terms of left4dead2, i wouldn't have cared if atkinson only took the gore out, as it didn't bother me.
What really pissed me off was how he made the bodies disappear (it really destroyed the realism for me, and I can't play L4D2 as much as I played one)...

I like some blood, to reinforce the idea that you are conducting violence. My limit peaks at L4D2, which is pretty damn gory in my opinion. I love the game and wade through the gore, but it does gross me out if I really pay attention to it or think about it too much. If anything were to try and do more than that, I think I wouldn't be able to play it.

When sick people mix blood/gore with sexuality, that's going so far beyond any limits...that to me is just people being f**ked up.
