I can do something that could easily be mistaken for playing the guitar. I mean I do but generally speaking everything I learn is from tabs and my improvisation ability is limited.

Edit: My guitar's an Ibanez GRG170 DX [http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k56/Lightynix/?action=view&current=IbanezGRG170DXJB1.jpg] in jewel blue and I love it to bits.

I play baritone! :D
Don't you mean you sing baritone?
Or did you mean you play baritone sax? Or baritone guitar?

Me, I play the guitar well enough to be good entertainment at parties and social gatherings, and I love playing Classical pieces and some of Puccini's arias on the piano.
nope I play a baritone. Imagine a tuba only smaller. But one of my friends plays baritone sax ;)

I'm in music college, with electric guitar as my primary instrument. Plu sI'm in a band where I play lead guitar and do some backing vocals. Here's a list of the "instruments" I play, in order (highest to lowest) of skill:

Electric Guitar
Growl-y Metal Vocals
Acoustic Guitar
Bass Guitar
Clean Vocals
Drums
Keyboard/Piano

And before there's a smartass who comments on acoustic and electric guitar not being any different, you are talking out of your arse, good sir and forward slash or madam. I'm not talking about playing an acoustic guitar like an electric guitar, I'm talking about playing stuff so it sounds good on an acoustic. For an electric guitarist who's not had much experience with acoustics, making every note clean and ring out can be much more difficult, and for an acoustic guitarist, playing an electric guitar can be frustratingly easy, and as such they find their fingers slipping from strings, or they lack good dynamic control.

So yeah, I'm a music nerd. :)
Yeah, I started on acoustic and wasn't very good. I went to electric and things are going pretty quickly as far as learning the instrument.

Acoustic is basically normal chords, while electric is better for power chords and noodling. Not to say you can't play power chords on an acoustic, but it sounds kind of odd most of the time, to me at least.
