I'm following a Bachelor study for biomedical sciences. So wrong biology stuff tends to get to me. When it's obviously fake it bothers me less than when the director tried to use pseudoscience to explain it.

Do NOT watch Red Tails, or The Red Baron. Egads, they're awful.

Studying Aerospace, and have handled firearms before, so any errors involving guns and aircraft. Also films like the Patriot and Braveheart and their deliberate disregard for history.

The excuse is always "it's entertainment, not a documentary". Well in that case make it about the Blargon race fighting the Snusnu's on planet Nixtor. Do not shit all over history and past accomplishments with your lazy storytelling.

As a police officer and detective I can't watch almost any police procedural the plots are just so uninteresting and you scream at the TV things like "JUST LIE TO HIM! YOU CAN DO THAT!" Exceptions are The Wire and Law and Order (only seasons where Jack McCoy is involved)

I really liked LA Noir though because the way crimes are investigated was very accurate. Even in modern times with DNA, Fingerprints and the like we still very much rely on 'good old fashioned' police work.

"What? He barely lost any blood, he couldn't have bled out"
"No, the blood doesn't flow like that when you chop someones arm off"
"WHAT? There is no liver there, you can't have been shot in it!"
"Oh come on, all of your tendons were severed, you can't walk, dumbass"

That sort of stuff I scream in my head all the time. There's also the Walkers from The Walking Dead, still being able to move their body even though their spine is severed. (I'm not saying zombies are impossible, though).

Also, this:

See his spine breaking through the skin on his back? He is incredibly vulnerable thanks to that, but it doesn't really seem to bother him.

Also some basic science stuff, but mostly the anatomical sillyness in films.

Well having studied all three sciences at A level and done a degree in biomedical science I occasionally feel the need to shout "bad science" at a film. My girlfriend also gets history rage whenever something historically inaccurate comes on so between us we can ruin pretty much any film.

I'm now relatively infamous among my friends when sci-fi movies are playing, due to my interest in physics primarily, and more than a passing knowledge in biology & genetics... I'm usually able to enjoy a film despite how stupid the science can be, but will still notice and point out the really idiotic flaws :p For instance, after watching Prometheus, my uni flatmates' first thoughts were "Oh god, imagine Seph watching this". When I finally watched it, it took a good 10 minutes or so before I hit the first problem :p

As somone who has studied theoretical physics at a post-graduate level I find some sci-fi themes hard to swallow and also some of the jargon that gets banded about in science fiction in general "reverse the polarity of the neutron flow" anybody?

The bad swordplay however really irks me, especially because it's really easy to do right! I can count on a single hand how many good/remotely realistic swordfights I've seen in a movie on one hand and still have at least 2 fingers left over. It's annoying because there are 2 mistakes that are almost universal; fighting far too close, and launching attacks that are only ever going to hit the person's sword rather than the person's person.
Let us not forget the severe mistreatment of edges (block with the flat or you won't have an edge), the supreme lacking in the footwork department, the fact armor means nothing to hollywood, how they NEVER counter cut (they prefer to debate with their weapons), how stupid some of the characters fight (In the final fight in Rob Roy, the bad guy could have finished the fight more times than I had fingers), the noise they make when drawn in reality is NOT the *schiiiiiiing* that EVERYTHING with a blade makes in movies, longer swords are extremely difficult to draw from your back, they make up a LOT of weapons that wouldn't work in reality, katanas are not the be all end all sword and in reality are a terrible choice if the enemy has metal armor, pressing against each other's blades to have a chat is ridiculous and a simple turning of the blade and you can hit the fool (or grab him and come around his blade, grappling was as big of a part of swordfighting as actual sword work), and how certain wounds don't seem to bother named characters (an arrow to the shoulder blade would prevent you from living, let alone drawing a strong warbow unless you are the Rock).

What are the sword fights you were referring to as being good?

Given that my hobby/area of expertise is rocketry and nuclear reactors, I've kind of given up. Although the few times I see a realistic rocket or the correct depiction of a nuclear reactor make me squeal a bit, the times are so incredibly rare I just gave up.

Superhero films don't really get me in the 'bad science' department, since it's obvious that they aren't going to pay head to any sort of real science from the start. Anyway, Abomination has healing and shit.

Mostly business procedurals. The evil corporations doing the most ridiculous methods because it will get them the most amount of money is a ridiculous method if it puts the lives of employees at risk. That and it would not make them much money so doing this method is ludicrous and since most companies require a group decision from the board, unless all have gone insane, the evil company just wouldn't go ahead with it. Don't even get me started on the Umbrella corporation

Also computer users also mostly irritate me

The Patriot was a great movie, until you learn history and see just how BAD they butchered it.
That whole scene where Mel and his kids take on an entire British caravan.... Running with a flintlock pistol and firing and hitting the target... just NO! A horridly inaccurate weapon (unrifled short barrel) combined with running and the distance means you aren't going to hit shit.

Well... Sometimes I wince at physics and what little technobabble I can safely decipher. And biology, or stuff like that. Not very knowledgeable but enough so that knowing TWO PEOPLE ON THE SAME KEYBOARD CAN NOT STOP A HACKING ATTEMPT NO MATTER HOW FAST THEY TYPE. Damn you CSI...

Well, games in television never goes well either. But I only get the really obvious physics ones and I can usually suspend beliefs as long as there's a somewhat reasonable explanation. I'll take A wizard did it if they're consistent.
EDIT:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! NO! BAD! That is simply terrible...
There's a lot more I could cover, I guess, but that'd likely be most films not romantic comedies, and even then it can be pretty bad.

Well, depends on how well entertained I am and how seriously the piece of media is taking itself. If it thinks it's serious, you can bet I'm going to rip into it if it fucks up regularly, but if it gleefully pokes fun at itself (read: Castle... -_- ), then I will too, no harm done.

But it's like this with all media I've indulged in (and bear in mind in my house we have, collectively, nineteen scientific titles among four people and enough history books to fill a moderate sized public library):

The Good: for science! Life Story & Copenhagen for war! Tora! Tora! Tora! & the Longest Day for TV! ReGenesis

The Bad: NCIS, most modern police procedurals, most films about the classical/antiquities era (e.g. Troy, Centurion, the Eagle, Gladiator etc.), most films about WWI/WWII, hell most warfilms...

The Ugly: Pearl Harbour... and Scipio: A Novel, both veritable shit-piles.

Yes. The later Star Trek Shows and the most recent Movie go right in the Trashbin because of shitty Science. I might get the Movie out of that because at least it had some good Reasons to screw with the Science.
The Shows however, do not. "Tri-Polymer Plasma"? Really? "Three-many Plasma"?.
"Molecular Fission" Wont be deadly. I do that about a trillion times daily.

Archers Enterprise had the Chracter Travis Mayweather stumble into a three foot ditch and break his Ankle. On a Comet.
Star Trek was the Franchise that took pride on scientific Accuracy. Now they make Bullshit up that "Armageddon" got right.
You know, the Movie with the russian Cosmonaut banging on a Pipe with a Wrench for comedic effect? That Movie is more scientifically accurate than "Star Trek".

Some things bug me about modern Comedy shows. Love Interests.
We saw this with Rachel and Ross, with J.D. and Eliot, with Penny and Leonard.
This is my Expertise as a human being speaking: it would be actually refreshing if there where two People that got together in a Show and then they stayed together.

Speaking of Comedy shows: "Scrubs" had some Germans in there. I got a good laugh out of those "Germans", most of those Actors can not speak German well enough that i could understand them.
Sarah Chalke is among the best german speakers i've ever seen in american TV.

It's not that hard to find a german, we aren't all that rare. Then again, i always get a good extra laugh out of those Actors trying to convince americans that they're german.
How's the Situation in other Languages? Do the Americans rape your Language as well? :D

Anything involving hospitals will bother me. My extremely short-lived time as a assistant nurse person makes me notice all the little breaches in protocol that will likely happen in anime, films, games etc etc

Other than that i'm fine. It takes a lot for "wrong" physics to bother me because as long as the universe doesn't break it's own physics i'm fine with it.

For example surviving bullshit falls is fine in something like Bleach because hey badass soul people FTW. Whereas you pull that in say, School Days (picking names out of the ether right now :p) people are going to be really confused because it's going for real life type physics.

By the way, if any of you people are wondering about going into nursing, here's my advice:

Don't.

Naval Battles and procedures. Usually, when watching a "Military" movie, I end up shouting stuff like this:

"No! You don't have the right insignia! You can't be an officer!"

"Why are enlisted getting there own beds?"

"NO! You just got half your crew killed!"

"Stop having sex on the boat!"

And, most annoyingly,

"Your hair is to long!"

Another thing: When people go up to a bar, ask for beer, and instantly get a cup. First of all, what kind of beer is it? Light, standard? How much beer? What brand? How does the bartender instantly KNOW what kind of beer the guy wants, how much of it, what brand, in what cup, how it is done, etc? That is why, for all of our sake, I have invented Beer Branded Beer.

I'm with you. I'll let it slide if the film or programme has a knowing sense of stupidity and is presented as entertainment. But if it's trying to be serious then it better get serious about its research and execution.

Im sure this happens to every musician.

Whenever someone in a movie/TV show etc is playing an instrument but their actions dont match the sound, drives me COMPLETELY insane (Im looking at you, school of rock).

From that point on I really cant take the characters very seriously.

Since I started 3D art, the way I play games has changed quite a bit. I just can't stop looking at things and try to figure out how it is done or what I would do different/better. And all these small errors that 'normal' players would probably not eve notice, but are easy and fast to fix, annoy me like hell...not so much to ruin the game for me, though.
