My pc is powerful enough to run Crysis 1 on ultra settings with the extreme FX mod, 60fps.
Eeek, are you using that Super-Computer that China created? The one with 57,000 CPU's.....
Just an i7 930.
You must have a rather good Graphics card and RAM.
Dual GTX 470's get the job done.
Wowsers. You could run Crysis and Metro 2033 simultaneously and switch between the two when you fancied on that setup.

8 gigs of corsair ram too?

Although the game IS kinda crappy, i've played it for benchmark's sake and can run it on high with AAx2

only 6

Edit: to those claiming that Crysis is crappy, the game is far more complex than you think

I do believe the new benchmark is Witcher 2, that game has insane graphics and requirements for ultra high. On topic, i can max crysis 2, but witcher i have to keep on medium textures, with most of everything else off. The game still looks great too. Wierd...

Depends on the laptop. ;)

My M15x can run Crysis on maxed settings but only at 30fps. It's impressive for a laptop, though.

My laptop can just about run Crysis on low settings. But apart from silly graphics-fests like that, it can run most games from before 2007 on max settings.

My PC can run Crysis 1 at max quality, I never tried with Crysis 2 though but I'm sure it could.

I can run crysis fine on my laptop, although the final two levels give a severe framrate drop, which requires several restarts to make managable.

Well that's just weak-sauce. You may have to tone down some of the shaders in Metro 2033 with only 6 gigs of RAM....

Only Six gigs of RAM? Pathetic!

I only have Crysis Warhead. Don't know if it's harder or easier to run than the original Crysis, but I imagine it's similar. My native resolution is 1920x1080. I can run Crysis Warhead on all Gamer settings (it goes Mainstream - Gamer - Enthusiast), so medium I guess. No AA. I also have to turn down the res to 1440x900.

It runs playable most of the time ~30-40 fps, with dips down to 12-15ish when the game feels like it.
The freedom in the game is a refreshing change from corridor shooters. I've actually started to play though it finally, and it's fun.

<a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.297492-The-Latest-Build-Skorpyo-builds-a-Tiny-God>My current machine can handle anything that you throw at it.

But for some reason, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games all run badly. I blame poor coding.

Crysis, max settings, with about 30 FPS and rather uncommon drops in framerate. More than good enough for me, all things considered.

No game (and barely any x86-type application) can fully leverage a 4/6/8 core CPU so all you'd have is 56,996 more unused CPUs...

And just quick aside to the people who keep making Crysis quips whenever an article describes a supercomputer: supercomputers have jack shit to do with games; you could not run a game on a supercomputer because you could not even run Windows on a supercomputer. Totally different architectures. And even if you did get Windows on a supercomputer, Crysis would not run or would run like shit because supercomputers don't even have/need GPUs...

Did I say supercomputers enough times?
I don't think I did.
...supercomputers.
Hey! Move that massive wall of text outta my way so that I can make some more jokes about Crysis' system requirements!

My computer can run Crysis on medium...but it is also my old computer that I set aside a year ago when I bought a new rig that is currently getting a mobo replaced. The whole, "You need a supercomputer to run Crysis" thing was blown way, way out of proportion. You could run Crysis on a relatively weak computer, even way back when it was first released. Not on max settings sure, but high enough to be damn pretty.

When I get my proper computer back, I can run Crysis on Max, and Metro on...I seem to remember it was close to max with a solid frame rate. Probably need either more RAM or "More likely" a better video card to go higher.
