I only really play open-ended games, like Minecraft, Terraria, SOLAR2, Football Manager 2011, mainly 'cause I only have a fairly good laptop, can run DAO on good graphics without too much F/R issues, run Minecraft on Far/Fancy fine, but can't really run CIV V all that well (it's still really good on bad graphics, the one below what it is recommended)

I can run the origional Crysis on max, but due to a memory leak (I assume) it crashes every 40-60 minutes and I have to re-launch the game, so I play it on medium-high settings to avoid that.

I can run Just Cause 2 almost maxed out as well, only turning off a few things like the ultra high water reflection and other stupidly high requirement options. In fairness it still runs when all that's on, but it struggles to make 20fps.

I need a good vid card, when I upgraded I forgot to see if it supported PCI, but it only supports PCI-E

Haven't met a game that I can't run on max yet. However my GPU has started appearing in recommended PC specs for some games so its not going to last.

My $900 AUD PC can run Crysis on max settings, yet it has extreme trouble running anything these days because I just need to flush the system and start again.

Not good.

I can run Killing Floor after I adjust the specs a bit and I can play Stalker if I turn the settings down some. Tried playing Clear Sky and that was unplayable even with the settings turned all the way down.

edit: I imagine that if I even thought about running Crysis my computer would self destruct just to spite me.

I think The Witcher 2 is the new benchmark. I can run Crysis on max settings at 60fps. I can run The Witcher 2 at nearly max settings, with ubersampling off, at around 30fps.

Yeah I can run Crysis at 1080 on ultra and get just a shade over 38FPS, Metro on the otherhand...

Edit: to those claiming that Crysis is crappy, the game is far more complex than you think
I love it, except the tank bit, although the stuff happening in the background of that section is cool, and of course when the aliens start being the main enemy. I tend to just play the first few levels over and over, just like I did with Far Cry.

I've noticed that people who say that the game is bad are people who don't realize that suit modes do more than their names would suggest, like how strength absorbs recoil.

I'm not really sure. For a while I was only able to get a solid framerate in Borderlands If I toned down all of the graphics settings to minimum. But as of more recently the game runs 60+ FPS with textures and the polygon count maxed out. Of course, I haven't tried any of the more demanding things such as AA and bloom, but I'm happy with all of my textures and polygons looking pretty. As for more modern games that do require a very good PC, I can't comment on much. However, when I was playing STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl I was able to max out the settings and get a solid 60+ FPS but sacrifice quick loading times in the process.
