Does your work(School) have any stupid rules/policys?

Well there was the time they changed the uniform. They decided to include a coat that didn?t provide much in the way of warmth, you could absolutely not wear your own coat, and it was a cold winter. The next year they added a fleece to the inside which was much warmer, more money for them.

It wasn?t so bad I suppose; if you weren?t new to the school you got a free uniform.

I did hear some worse stories from other schools near me. A girl that got took out of a lesson and put in isolation or something because she wore trousers the wrong shade of gray. Also there is a school where they do sock checks on a morning. Yes, a school got so power hungry they demand to look at your underwear every morning to make sure they are black. You get sent home if they are not black.

I know it's not that bad, but at my school we can't listen to our mp3 players DURING LUNCH. Why the fuck not? But still, as I said, It's not that bad.

my school had LOADS of rules, but only some of the teachers made you follow them.
some examples.
no guns(bb guns): every boarder had one
no drinking: we had clubs at school with titles such as "beer club"
no personal displays of affection: didn't stop anyone
free/study periods are for working in: we had LAN parties going on in them.

on a 6F geography trip to Scilly. We had a talk before we left from the head about no drink/smoking. first night we are there we go to two bars and again every night after that. though we were limited to two drinks per-person. You can get some big bottles over there...

we do have some good rules though, like the head boy is allowed to keep a goat at school.

In the last year my school has become borderline Nazi camp. Now we have to wear our photo-id around our neck, all because 2 kids OD'd last year.

Yes, a school got so power hungry they demand to look at your underwear every morning to make sure they are black. You get sent home if they are not black.

They used to do that in P.E. at the comprehensive school I went to. Got a detention for wearing black instead of red socks. We had a lot of picky rules like, you can't wear a t-shirt under your school shirt, no make up, no blouses, no trainers, no skirts, no shorts, ties must be tied in a specific way, buttons done up to the top at all times, shirt must be tucked in at all times. They also had a rule for no visible underwear. In sixth form we had only one strange rule, it was non-uniform and everything was permitted; piercings, hair dye etc... but you can't wear floral print shorts. They wouldn't tell us why.

At my school it was all-girls, and all the uniform rules were based around trying to stop people looking like sluts. No dangly earrings, shirts tucked in, regulation jumpers, long skirts etc. People would subvert this by wearing too much lipgloss, and rolling the waistbands of their skirts over and over to make them really tiny.

There was a no shorts rule until the ONE GIRL who always wore trousers' mother complained that she was getting hot in summer. Why this single girl couldn't wear a skirt like everyone else I have no idea - she was the ONE GIRL in shorts afterwards.

I also had a mohawk which apparently wasn't allowed (the irony being that they told me to wear a hat to cover it, then shouted at me for wearing a hat). Some epic contradictions right there I always love when school/parents go put up some lame ass rules only to contradict them selves. I always wear Hoodies/Caps and no school so far has complained about my Eybrow Piercing.

It wasn't really the school, it was just my ***** of a form tutor. She was truly evil, you should have seen her face when she spotted my tattoo. She told me I had to get it removed and phoned my parents, my mum told her to go f**k herself...

There were just the usual hair and uniform things as I'm British, but I think the worse was in my forth year at secondary school they introduced a rule that our bags had to be black or navy, nobody, not even the teachers really paid attention, so it was kinda forgotten about and everybody can keep their dangerous "individuality" (I mean seriously, do we all have to be boring drones that do nothing but absorb information then regurgitate it?). Thankfully my sixth form is allot better (one guy I know came in one day in a full sully suit from monsters inc costume for charity, and the teachers had quite a laugh about it, but didn't really care that much)

No bright colored clothing. Apparently it is too distracting.
No tears or imperfections on your clothing, anywhere.

Here are some of the policies enforced at Starbucks:

- Hair cannot be any 'unnatural' color, and store managers have the right to decide what counts as 'unnatural' (my hair was a very red shade of auburn, completely natural in my family, and I was forced to dye over it)

- Hair restraints must be black, white, gold, or silver.

- Shoes must be all black or brown, unless they are tennis shoes, in which case they may be all white. (you can get your butt chewed for wearing a black shoe with a single white streak on the sole).

- Nails must be kept neat (which is near impossible when they break constantly from being soaked in ammonium sanitizer for eight hours at a time)

There was a rule at my primary school dictating when students of certain grades could play in the sand pit. And the teachers actually enforced it.

And my French teacher (who was a complete ***** about everything little thing) wouldn't allow me to work on some of my English homework after I had finished all my french work.

The most ridiculous rule is that I wasn't allowed to wear my hoodie hood because it was the middle of winter AND THE HEATING WAS OUT.
