Doesn't it fell like PC gamers are getting the shaft?

I mean between bad PC ports and stuff plain not coming out for it. Seems like PC gaming is fading, not cause of lack of interest, just cause game devs won't make the game as good as the console ver.

I have two great examples (though there's tons more): Saints Row 2 had no DLC released for it cause of the game devs said "Oh it can be stolen."ie pirated. Next is Modern Warfare 3 where a main selling point: Elite. Will not likely come out for PC because "It's not a stable gaming platform." ie hacking.

This all seems like game devs being lazy. The majority of PC gamers arn't radical pirates looking to steal or hack everything. It's a small group I don't think the whole group should suffer. If the devs would take some time and look at what their doing. They'd see easy ways to combat what they don't want. Like for MW3 Elite: Hacking. If put something that recorded the matches so that people could send in clips of the person hacking....Oh wait they do have a recorder that's on by default. They don't have some place to submit the clips easily. Or even something like punkbuster (as much as I hate it) or VAC. Which I don't think would be too hard seeing as you MUST have steam to play it.

I ounno, I fell like I'be been wronged as a PC gamer. That the PC is getting over shadowed by consoles. Just wondering if it was just me?

As far as Elite is concerned, I see that as nothing more than laziness. Hacking on consoles happened enough, the only need to look as far as their own franchise to see that.

It's just a convenient scapegoat.

meh, the main companies may not treat PC as well as console (no matter what their publicity team state) but with so many indie developers and the easier access to games (downloading speeds varying of course).

You have to take the good with the bad, also spelling mistake in title, whoops.

No. Just because every game isn't catering to a PC market doesn't mean that PC is getting the shaft it means that other areas has ceased getting the shaft.

Developers are too lazy to code for PC's , because it's a lot harder to cater for the clearly superior gaming platform. Too many hardware configurations.

And then there are PC exclusives: upcoming Tribes: Ascend, pretty much any MOBA or RTS game, TOR or Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3 or Path of Exile, tons of indie games, the list goes on.

There are still enough PC exclusive games and genres (strategy games, racing simulations, realistic fps, competitive fps.... good fps in general actually) to make PC gaming worth it, but it's really sad to see all those lazy console ports on PC.
Even big budget games like Skyrim or the COD:MW series get really cheap ports. (I'm still waiting for a patch to fix the problems with mouse lag and inconsistent mouse sensitivity in Skyrim.)

It's funny how publishers, who blame piracy for bad sales on PC, are often those who release crappy games on PC.
If you want to sell more PC games, you will have to make good PC games first. PC gamers are smart enough not to buy into marketing hype.

Yeh, I'm typing on a phone at work sorry for the mistakes in spelling.
The RPG games will always be better on PC just because that's where they started on pc. The game devs remember where they came from. I understand taking the good with the bad but still what happened to quality? Release it for what you want, don't make a horrible PC port as a aim to try to make a few more bucks. Though I suppose that's what it all comes down to it money

Also BF3 was over the top, though they also came from the PC and knew gamers would rip them apart if it wasn't up to par.

The bad ports are the worst part of it and the biggest problem is games on PC just require a higher standard, PC games always had the most amount of features so a straight port from consoles just seems like a half arsed game, you don't really notice what the old games did until you play the new ports and hit frustration on every corner.
There is just no end to the complaints on PC CoD, but here is the thing it's just the same game as the consoles get, the only real issue is you aren't used to being that constrained.

As for the missing titles, there are few you would actually want to see ported, for the most of them tho you would just get more complaints then praise because they are too simple to make sense on PC.

I would mainly like to see Nintendo game ports, because that waggle bullshit just couldn't be expected on PC so you get some proper controls.

I don't blame consoles for bad PC ports. I blame the developers for being lazy and not trying hard enough to make sure the PC port is as good as it can be.

Agreed.

I always like to think that while gaming on consoles is not a bad idea, it still does not take into account the geeky fun of preparing a com that has the right specs. I like to control what goes in, what goes on and how my game should look like - remember Crysis .ini settings? THAT was fun. If I wanted to have a hassle free game I say consoles. But if I wanted to tinkle with my gaming experience I say PC.

And that's my 2 cents worth

I don't know about you guys, but these last couple of years have taken so much money out of my pocket to feed my PC some of the most awesome games I've ever played.
