Dogs fighting. There's a lot of stuff much worse out there.

Aren't you like the master of the Escapist TF2 group? The great group admin to rule them all? yes/no? Anyways, you can't be EVERYTHING on this site, man! Leave something to us little guys, with less than 20 000 posts.The_root_of_all_evil said:That sounds like fighting talk. There can be only pun.Owlslayer said:Seriously, is it just me or are you the pun-master of the Escapist (in a good way, of course)?
This. Yes, dogfighting is an actual problem. You know what else is an actual, much more serious problem? War. You know what glorifies war? Just about every major videogame on the market, from CoD to Halo. We need to think long and hard when a game about killing dogs raises more eyebrows than a game about killing people.Suskie said:I'm willing to bet that you could release a cockfighting game on the app market and no one would care. And that's not even counting the fact that a large portion of today's gaming industry revolves around people killing people. There's just something about dogs. I mean, I think the idea is in poor taste (especially since whoever made it was probably well aware that it would piss people off), BUT I think it should be allowed, because I believe in freedom of speech. Pulling this particular game simply for being distasteful seems dictatorial, unless the AppMarket has documented standards that this game failed to follow.
By the way, thanks to everyone in this thread for not throwing fuel into the let's-hate-Michael-Vick fire. As an Eagles fan, you can imagine I'm a little sick of hearing about that.

In Pokemon I can fight all animals I want. In Manhunt you can stalk and violently murder people to death with primitive weapons like palstic bags and shards of glass.
Why does this Dog game matter? You can't use any argument against it you couldn't against any other game. It allows you to simulate doing illegal things? Cruel things? Immoral things? Need I list you the amount of games that allow this?
In New Vegas I could fight Rad Scorpions in a ring; why is this game any different?
I guess you haven't played Postal 2 then? You can piss on anyone you want. You can silence your shotgun by sticking it up a cats ass and subsequently killing it. No one cared. In Call of Duty I can kill dogs, no one cared.jakefongloo said:A game where you kill Obama would be pulledAC10 said:This game should be put back on the market.

A game where you torture pandas would be pulled
A game where you piss on holocaust victems would be pulled
Fictional versus real life
Stop pretending they're the same, they're not.
And radscorpians openly attack anything except radscorpians.
Dogs give love and affection unless tortured otherwise.
Spend 10 minutes in a practice arena where dogs are prepped, and if you are any kind of humane you would shoot the dogs dead right there. It is that bad.
Personally? I think free speech should also apply to people who shoot the fuckers who hide behind the 1st amendment to do whatever the hell they want.
one simple reason amimals are 100% innocent and can never be deserving of callous behaviour such as torture in this case, people enacting horrors on each other is fine(for lack of better word) but don't enact it on the only truly innocent creatures of the worldSpot1990 said:What? How?RabbidKuriboh said:this shit is worse than rapelay imo
The Escapist has a habit of jumping on games that feature acts that would be morally wrong in real life when they're not produced by a company rich enough to buy ad space. Go watch the rants on Rapelay and that school shooter thing. Then try to find one about Manhunt(by rockstar, an AAA company).tanis1lionheart said:So Pokemon is okay but this isn't?
I am confused.
