Was it another studio that made the multiplayer for Bioshock 2?
Yes, Bioshock 2's single player and multiplayer were done by to different developers.

BioShock was never meant for multiplayer, in my opinion. I liked some features of it, such as the different character skins and so forth, but over all it's just not a "multiplayer" game.

Glad to see Irrational are making a rational decision, though. So many developers want to tack on multiplayer modes for no reason, and I'm impressed that they're standing up against it.

Good, lets hope they spend the time they would of spent on multiplayer, and make a great single player. Games like Bioshock don't need deathmatch. Why in the world did they do it in Bioshock 2 I will never know.

This game seems like its going to present the small problem most prequel games have

How come we have heard nothing of this place untill now

Its not a game changing problem really but it annoys me...

such as why do we never hear about starkiller when we are told about the birth of the rebel alliance in the movies (i know its because he didnt exist when the movie was made but shush)

I loved BioShock 2's multiplayer. But I am happy if there is no multiplayer as not enough games are pure single players anymore.

Good! Adding that multiplayer mode to Bioshock 2 made no sense. And it wasn't even much fun to play. But even if it had been good, I still think Bioshock should focus on the single player experience, and I'm glad to see it looks like they'll be doing that again with Bioshock 3.

Good, I hate it twhen they add Multi-player to make up for sub-par single player.

Could be intresting if they do it right.

Mixed feelings here.

Bioshock 2's was mediocre, but not bad per se. If it would be the same as that I don't see the point.

But

With the new setting they could make some truly amazing multiplayer maps.

Good. All too often games are let down by having a multiplayer tacked on to satisfy the fraglust of corpse-jumping kiddies.

I'd rather devs spend the money and time on parts of the game that actually matter.

Thing is though, this isn't a prequel. It's just set in an earlier time period.

I will have nothing but respect for Irrational if they choose not to include multiplayer in Bioshock Infinite.

Bioshock should just stuck to being a great singleplayer game, not an okay singleplayer game with some multiplayer stuck in there.

And hearing this news I'm feeling quite happy inside. Finally a game that will hae multiplayer as more of a secondary feature, if at all. For me a multiplayer is more of an extra to a game (unless that game is only multiplayer eg: TF2) so to read that they will focus on single player was like sex for my eyes.
Couldn't agree more XD

I would be quite happy if it stayed a single player experience, could spend more time crafting that

Bah, the only part of bioshock 2's multiplayer I came to like beyond the first 3 matches was the apartment...god I wish that that was my apartment.
