Anyone mind PM'ing me what this big spoiler was? I have no intention of buying the game but would like to know how it ends.

The little kid from the demo? He's the master Reaper. The Reaper's plan is not to exterminate all life, but to perfect it through experimentation and indoctrination. Shepard has the choice to complete their goal and merge all life with the Reapers, or destroy all cybernetic beings forever.

Turns out the spoiler was fake, thanks to an edited audio file thats been making the rounds on the web, but this should serve as a cautionary tale anyway.

Wait... fake spoiler? Link please? I am curious (and I've been swimming in spoilers like Scrooge McDuck in coins).

Um... I think someone took something out of context. Guys, I suggest calming down - I don't think the YouTube commenter actually had the correct info. It sounds more like he wrote something he heard from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who read the actual spoilers - which may or may not actually be correct as to what is in the game.

Yea it sucks that people do that. I watched here on the escapist so haven't had it spoiled for me yet except that everyone keeps telling me the ending 'sucks'.

WHY! WHY DO PEOPLE PUT SPOILERS EVERYWHERE! Not only on youtube, put people read this thread, which is dedicated to helping people avoid spoilers and you know what people post on it? SPOILERS! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!? Are you dedicated to making sure that not a single person has an unspoiled experience? I don't care if they're marked, the temptation is still there.

It's your own fault if you look at the spoiler'd ones.

I didn't look at them, but I would appreciate it if people stop shoving them down my throat, thank you very much. I don't understand the OCD that comes with posting these things, why do they need to be on EVERYTHING Mass Effect related?

so far I have managed to dodge all the spoilers despite watching almost every mass effect 3 video.

There was a similar situation when portal 2 was released and lots of people spoiled it for others (and despite watching all the trailers and reviews I managed to dodge the spoilers. It's simple DON'T READ THE COMMENTS WHEN NEAR RELEASE DATE, and if you start reading a comment that seems like a spoiler, stop reading it immediately (at least then if it is a long comment the damage can be minimal), same with a video or broadcast, if it sounds like it will spoil it than just turn it off. Personally I am greatly looking forward to mass effect 3, anyway it's the journey that counts in mass effect (not the ending so much, but it is nice to have a good conclusive ending), so even if mass effect 3 was spoiled I would still play and and probably still love it

Spoiler: about the massive spoiler in which I talk about it some more

Are you fucking kidding me?! Didn't that kid get killed when his escape shuttle was blasted out of the sky? Even if it wasn't, What the fuck!? Compared to the 'destroying the Reapers destroys the Mass Relays meaning everybody is stuck where they are' ending is better than that! Granted, I guess that can still happen if you wipe out all cybernetic life...If the game didn't turn into Mass of War In Space I would have been more interested but you know what? I'll just write my own ending since none of the other ones matter either.

And here I am thinking there would be a rick-roll like the Mario's 3D Galaxy trailer. The ME3 trailer disappoints me for two main reasons: 1, it shows off the sex scene (which seems to have more skin than the ME2 one) and, 2: it shows the same Thrasher Maw attacking the Reaper but the thing is, in the other trailers the TM snatched the Reaper from the sky at speed. I would have rather been surprised by that sort of thing but it now looks like that set piece may be used more than once which is fine I guess but after the first time the punch gets softer and less special.
