Double Standards, anyone?

So yeah, my fellow Escapists. Have you ever been faced with the 'double standard' when interacting with women in some shape or form?

My favorite one is when a man makes a mistake, he is whipped at by the woman for making it, to a ridiculous point, but when the woman does it, its all fine. If you try to point out that its actually her fault, you just get more backslash from her, and then it SOMEHOW gets pinned on YOU.

The point is that I am not a supremacist, as you have said. It just pisses me off how some women say they thrive to ensure equal rights, and still draw benefits from 'special treatment'.

It should be either, not both.

Just point out the double standard, and if said woman (or man, for that matter. It's not gender exclusive, I'll have you know) won't acknowledge the fact, then just leave if you can't stand it.

Stick to your guns and don't back down. If all else fails, make a tactical retreat.

As for the question itself, I can't really remember a specific situation from the top of my head. Sorry.

Besides that, double standards...
The Rabbis here accept donations for your wedding (and etc.) needs no matter what is your ethnicity, but they won't accept you as an equal if you were born somewhere different than them.

Not having a go here, but what's the point in making this thread? There's been a fair few, but those people have a reason to discuss it and usually have a story. Something like, "I was at a get together at the weekend and this woman/man and yadda yadda..."
It just seems a bit... ***** about something for the sake of it, it seems so out of the blue.
There's always those people who pop up in these threads and start spouting thinly veiled sexist comments about men or women too.
Like someone said, double standards aren't gender exclusive. Doesn't just happen with women either, I've encountered some problems like that with ethnic minorities and such.

OT: None of my friends who are female are like this, at least not seriously, they will often do it jokingly, but I get the feeling that doesn't count... So OP, I must ask, what type of women are you around? You shouldn't try to find dates in the prison admin-lobbies you know.

I don't pull double standards on my guy friends and I slap them every time they even TRY pulling them on me. Wish I could do that to employers. But for most of my guy friends I am their "go to girl" for car stuff. Simply because I have all the automotive experience and enjoy working on cars. And in return they are my tech gurus and are slowly teaching me more about computers. IF they wanted to learn more about cars I'd happily teach them but they know the basics(after I made them learn) so I don't push it.

In almost every developed country, statistics indicate that men are by far the more reckless drivers and much more likely to get into accidents - particularly under the age of 25. Hence their insurance rates are higher. That's no double standard or unfair treatment, that's insurance companies doing the logical thing because statistically speaking a certain subset of the population is a bunch of fucktards behind the wheel.

Of course this doesn't apply to every young male - myself included, as I'm 23, don't speed, and have yet to be in an accident - but numbers don't lie.
