I'm going with my friend and his chav brother, should be an experience.

My other problem after year 1 and 2 was the mentality of people who started to come to these events. Angry teens away from mummy and daddy for a week that'd be determined to act like as much of a dick as possible in the name of "metal" [/throwing the lame cliché horns]. So much idiocy is acceptable with young people getting drunk, high etc. for the first few times, but some (usually the drunks to be honest), feel like they should burn other peoples property, break stuff, belittle other festival goers and then go home and brag about the "riot" started by Steve (1st name off top of my head), The Magnificent Metal-Loving Tool.

Yeah, I am fully prepared to dish out some whoop-ass should the situation call for it.

What i dont get though is if there are bands that not everyone agrees with such as in 07 when MCR headlined mainstage. It caused alot of shit, people went and bottled them and just where pretty abusive. If you dont like the band. Dont see them! theyre there to perform and people might want to see them and your just ruining the experiance for those who do.

My friend went the V-Festival last year. Came back with tales of shit-filled toilets, people throwing bottles of piss into the crowd, mud everywhere, fighting. THE FUCKING V-FESTIVAL! Pop music!!!

*sigh* I'm going to come home drenched in shit, piss, vomit and blood aren't I? I wouldn't mind too much if it was my own fluids but it will be the fluids of morons instead.

If someone starts setting fire to my tent I'll break his arm I swear to Zeus.

It's pretty vague, and so is the site. However, I know that it involves metal, which is an aspect of music that I personally loathe. So I'm going to avoid this thread from now on.

EDIT: That's my opinion, don't flame me. It was an honest mistake; posting on this thread, and I know this place will just swarm with metal-heads.

It's pretty vague, and so is the site. However, I know that it involves metal, which is an aspect of music that I personally loathe. So I'm going to avoid this thread from now on.

It's an annual festival held in England. It used to be entirely 'metal' bands that played, but they've started branching out into other genres recently. Hence, it's not all metal; the foremost modern Boogie Woogie band are playing! (ZZ Top!)

Ah dont let it put you off. You will get a few retards there who spoil it for everyone else there. Theres always one, but the rest of the festival is pretty fun. Im not going to take crap this year from people being retards. Just befriend people who camp around you because there useually pretty awesome and just look out for one another, its good when a big group of you just have a laugh and dont worry.

Enjoy the music and just be safe.

Only take things you need, carry your cash on you at all times, take an old mobile phone so if you do lose it its not so much of a loss, keep a padlock on your tent on both the zips so only you can undo it and just go have fun

There is always security about also so its not too bad.
I did hear last year got really hectic so im glad i didnt go anywho, and i wasnt willing to waste my money on the line up last year. This year should be good thou.

Dont worry about your tent being burnt down thou, i hear there like banning gas stoves and stuff this year just because of that and there cutting down on the risk of fire and that. They want to keep the festival goers safe

Speaking of festivals, i am freaking the fuck out.
I want to go Reading this year as friends are going blah-de-blah. but i want to pick up tickets for V festival and the Big Chill aswell. problem is i'm not sure if any of my friends are, so i'm deliberating wether to just get tickets and hope for the best or wait it out.
Or possibly ask if people are going to festivals without sounding like a desperate tosser.

The head liners have just been announced:-

Slipknot, The Prodigy, Korn, Motley Crue, DragonForce, Devil Driver and Pendulum.

Having been to the two previous festivals I reckon that this one could easily be the best as I love 4 out of the 6 bands and don't dislike Korn or Motley Crue.

So who else is going/planning on going and what do you think of this first announcement.
