Nothing has came out on steam recently that i have been intrested in.
Im undecided about prototype and all thoose old realistic warfare games aren't my cup of tea.
Basically im asking if i have overlooked and gaming gems on steam that any of you could recommend
I have: *deep breath*
Audiosurf
COD WaW
CSS
TF2
Half life (1)
Half life 2 + epidsode 1 and 2
HL:DM
L4D
Fallout 3
Killing Floor
Unreal Tournament 3
Warhammer 40k dawn of war 2
Beyond good and evil
Portal
Dark messiah
Psychonauts
Max Payne 1 & 2
World of goo
and STALKER

So are there any steam games you could recommend me for this Looooooooong Summer (12 weeks)

Infact if there are any other sweet games that are downloadable maybe from direct 2 drive, them too, or other free games such as quake live.

They have to be downloadable because im a lazy bastard

Much appreciated :)

EDIT: Ooo can anyone confirm that Cryostasis is good? It looks intresting, cheers

Garry's Mod.
That'll last you the entire summer.
What does it provide?
You can essentially build anything you want.
And then you can position character models.
There's a lot more stuff that you can find out via Google.

STALKER: Clear Sky. If you liked the first then get this as it improves on it in every way and gets one step closer to being the perfect expression of its concept (looks like the next one continues the trend). Also, it's nowhere near as buggy as everyone makes it out to be, I only had as many problems as I would with any game, in fact I had less then I've had running Mass Effect (and I've only had ME a week).

Killing Floor is fun but it does get repetitive and old very quickly thank god modders for custom maps.

Anyway Prototype really is worth it but go for the Penny Arcade RPGs. Funny shit.
From the selection NeonZombie posted, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm a huge PA fan myself, I've been reading the comics since they were on Looney Games [looneygames.com] and when Gabe did all that work for Gamespy. However the game's slow turn based combat and lack of sound isn't for everyone including myself.

I gather NeonZombie prefers twitch based games.

I'll suggest Zeno Clash [http://store.steampowered.com/app/22200/]. Since you have World of Goo, Psychonauts, and Portal listed. You'll probably enjoy it's quirky art style and story.

I usually get games in bundles on steam. Known good deals include the Ghost Recond series, Prince of Persia Series, Dawn of War, and Full Spectrum Warrior.

Prototype
I'm really considering prototype, My only concern is that i don't have a controller for pc i'm stuck with the ol' keyboard and mouse and since it's an action game i figured it would all be about button combos and stuff.

Can anyone confirm that the controls are well suited to keyboard? or should i give it a miss until i get a controller for my pc

Check out Gametap, it's like a subscription based online games library. I think the first month is only one dollar.

Portal for being a quirky puzzle game with some great humor. Psychonauts because It has some great charcters and a few moments that are insanly funny but the gameplay tends to be a lesson in frustration and it has some voice acting that is god-awful. It's still worth it.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned 'Braid'???

Noob question: How do I get access to Steam? I googled quite a lot, but didn't get the proper tools. :(
