I haven't played DA2 yet (i have it, but i'm finishing other things first) so i haven't seen if the scene really goes this way like how it was infamously easy to end up in bed with Zevran with little to no provocation, but if so then i guess it's easy to see why the guy who complained is so worked up about it. While Bioware isn't "promoting the homosexual agenda" and whatever else extremists cook up as propaganda when slandering a minority, i suppose it can feel a bit excessive to somebody who isn't expecting it or doesn't feel very comfortable with it. Someone can have no problem with homosexuals, but still feel uncomfortable if one is coming onto them. I don't want to hear "then they're homophobic" or "dude take it as flattery". It can make someone just as uncomfortable, if not more so, than a man hitting on a woman when she has no interest in him and feels awkward about the whole thing or vice versa, especially if it's not someone of your orientation.
Here, Bastel writes "Now immediately I'm sure that some male gamers are going to be like "YOU DON'T SPEAK FOR ME! I LOVE DRAGON AGE 2!", but you have to understand, the Straight Male Gamer, cannot be just lumped into a single category. " which shows, to me at least, he understands he doesn't speak for every "straight male gamer" and that not everyone in that category will think the way he does. Rather, he's speaking as an individual of that demographic, and you have to give him a little respect for understanding that. On his "No homosexuality" option, i believe he is suggesting you implement it in the way the censor option as implemented in MW2 - that is, you could opt to "hide" and ultimately skip the No Russian mission entirely. What he appears to be suggesting is an option that disables open same-sex flirting / relations. This, i do not see to be an outrageous request. He's not saying homosexuality as a whole should be censored, but that those who find it offensive or uncomfortable should have the option of choosing not to be exposed to it. It doesn't matter if they have "issues" with homosexuality or not; it's about having the option to not be forced to be exposed to it while not actively forcing censorship without the player's prior consent.
