I believe the word you were looking for is "tatters".

Not going grammar nazi on ya, just pointing out ;)

but one must remember that only a small percentage of people are really demanding and the rest subscribe to the age old "meh, I buy it all" train of thought, so the game will be selling just fine as long as it carries the right name.
Ah yes, the joys of having more disposable income than ideas what to do with it all. I, for one, have to be incredibly picky and critical of what I decide to buy. To the point I'm in danger of losing by Gamer's Badge because I'm not playing "this shit every gamer should play" things!

I had about enough of their games, they are just sailing down a stream that I will not follow.
That's about right tho.

Eh, I'll pass on yet another simplistic GOOD/BAD "moral choice" system game by Bioware. After playing the Witcher series, I legitimately cannot play Bioware games anymore.

Look, it was understandable in Star Wars (KOTOR), the Star Wars universe is renowned (read: mocked) for it's good vs evil conflict, and Jade Empire I could forgive, but for god's sake learn to write stories that have more depth than "HURR HURR I AM AN EVIL DOUCHE BAG" or "I WILL PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND VANQUISH EVEEEEEL!!1!1".

Another reason why Dragon Age 2 sucked balls compared to Origins.
I loved the fact that Origins had no moral choice system.

I don't actually mind being human, given the nature of the story it does make sense to be human, seeing as the factions are between human only, and mostly human.

David Gaider I have mixed feelings about. He has the ability I think, but I dislike his arrogance. Although I imagine a lot of it is probably lack of patience with some of the more crazier fans constant demands.

My largest concerns at the moment are that it will be as railroaded as DA2 and ME3, where we do not feel like we have any say in what actually happens. Granted a lot of the older games are not as free as they seem, but the designs allowed us to feel like the game was a lot more unique. Especially the different origin stories and the perspectives they gave.

My other major issue is that the game will probably feature poor paraphrasing and auto-dialogue. They knew fans wanted choices and better options but still did both of these poorly in DA2 and ME3. In DA2 the options made practically no difference to the outcome of the conversation, they simply changed the tone. Whereas in ME3 Shepard apparently grew a mind of their own, and decided they had all sorts of opinions that completely clashed with how I imagined my character to be.

My last major concern is that things will be inconsequential like in DA2. The main story is about Templars and mages, especially the way mages are all kept on a tight leash and always under suspicion. Yet playing as a mage makes absolutely no difference for the most part beyond a few lines of dialogue that do not impact the story. Considering the nature of the story, it actually breaks it quite badly.

I would say that I am cautiously optimistic, but am more than prepared for disappointment. Or in other words, I really want it to be fantastic, because I love the series and the world they have created, but will not be surprised if it isn't.

I am currently replaying the games actually. I'd say my largest dislikes between the two are that Origins can drag on too much in certain areas, whereas DA2 feels too constricted, and forced. Varric is easily the best thing from DA2, hell, I think he may be my favourite computer game character ever.

I really want this game to come out. Dragon Age is one of my favorite game series, so more details about the next one are great. Hopefully they improve on DA2, since they certainly got a lot of fan feedback from that and ME3. Good to see some initial details! This is a definite pre-order for me the moment I can.

The concept art looks nice. I hope they're going for a little bit more clear/open style with a little less of the grunge that pervaded DA1 and 2.

I'm gonna be waiting for fan response and critics before buying this after the massive disappointment that was DA2. I loved DA:O and bought 2 without a second thought. While not a bad game by industry standard, it was lacklustre compared to Origins at the very least.

And more choices for follower customization? What does that mean? I'm thinking (although I hope to God I'm wrong) that it means having even more crap to inspect your followers for 0.1 more stamina on their bracers or whatever. I hate having to equip followers in any game, it's a chore and a bother.

The whole fully voiced character thing bothers me as well, a lot of the time you get paraphrases that seem like something your version of the character would say and when he/she opens their mouth, it's something completely different.

Although I do think it will be better than DA2 (I can't see how it couldn't be, I don't think Bioware can afford another fiasco on its rep), I'm thinking it will be committee designed and 'safe', and while good, not too exciting.

Also, I want my damn Dalish Elf character back!

Doesn't sound all that great to me, seems like they are cutting massive corners on what the game should be if you can't choose to be a non-human character.

Likewise, there is little being said about the actual gameplay style. If it's not a continuation/update on the original Dragon Age, I have no real interest. The whole pseudo-brawler thing just kind of destroyed DA-2 for me. I want an RPG, not some half arsed action-RPG.

Okay, maybe DA3 won't be quite so ba...

Urgghhh...

Is this really nesesary? You create a world filled with elves and dwarves, make an exelent first game that lets you experiance the game as one and then lock us with xenophobic duchebags instead.

I still wanna know where the heck they're going to go with Flemeth, Morrigan, and
the Old God child
sub plot.

Anyway, I'll need something a bit more substantial for DA3 so hopefully I see more. I get the feeling the Darkspawn are going to take a back seat for awhile as the Mage-Templar War rips the continent to shreds. I wouldn't be surprised if DA4 is going to be the Grey Wardens having to tell everyone to stop killing each other while another Blight is on the horizon.
If they're gonna force some of the plot choices on us, I don't believe for one second they're gonna keep the Morrigan ending in DAO as canon. Likely use the Lohgain ending as canon, so they can justify Alister showing his dumb face up in Orlais after his self banishment.

Yes, but it still rail roaded you into "Good", "Neutral", and "Evil" conversation "choices"

Speaking of choices, there is no such thing as "choices" in a Bioware game. You are either another generic goody two shoes hero, or a douchebag who seemingly has no motivation for being such a dick.

I still find them enjoyable, it just rubs me the wrong way when Bioware gets praised for their moral choice system. It's not 1995 anymore, having a morality meter and multiple quest endings in an RPG is nothing special.
They make decent enough RPG's, but why they're hailed as "OMG BIOWARE NERDGASM" is beyond me. Their games are nothing more than somewhat (sometimes, see Dragon Age II) above average RPG's with extremely simplistic story telling. There is no depth to them, but I will concede they can still be entertaining. Honestly though, it's 20-Fucking-12, there is no excuse for the 1990's "morality" system they still use.

Human player character. Blegh, blegh I say.

I don't want to be human, I already am one of those, we're not that interesting.

That's the thing about concept art; It always looks snazzy. Everything does on paper.

OT: At this point I'd be happy if the game simply allowed me to role-play. Remember that, Bioware? But seeing as we're locked into the human role I doubt we'll be getting the same breath that Origins had.

I remember when David Gaider was considered A Good Guy. Bizarre how things have changed.

It'll probably be better than DA2 at the very least, but I'm still firmly in the Unexcite category.
