I do not recall that temple leading to another temple of grinding. I do however remember the temple leading to another temple that had a couple of interesting trials, so I don't know which game you played.
It sounds like he's talking about the ruined temple, and I don't see what the problem was. It was a temple overrun with cultists following a very unmagical
dragon claiming it was a reborn god.
Were you expecting maybe a baalor to pop out of the wall or something? Last time I checked they started mixing in dragonlings and drakes the further you went in too. The fact that an area has a certain amount of cohesiveness as far as the enemies you fight just makes the game feel more real to me.

And for people whining about the loot, I find it to be a rather refreshing change of pace that the game isn't a damned loot treadmill.

You purchased an rpg and expected instant gratification? Go buy MW2.
Listen to this guy, he's a smart cookie.

Seriously? Are you joking or what? RPG's have always been about the grind.
Since when? Any decent RPG has almost no grind whatsoever.

Also its worth getting thew DLc, Shale is the most awsome character you can get and retaking the keep has a lot of back story plot to it... and since the game without any dlc is 20gig i don't think they could have supplied it with the game.
Given that Shale and the Blood Dragon Armor DLC is Free until april... I'd say it's very much worth it.

The only paid DLC that they've had so far was the Warden's Keep, the rest has all been -free-...

...if you bothered to pay for the game.
Yes I did pay for the game. Also thanks for bringing up the Dragon armour, cause i have to say summin about that... What a pile of shite. not only does it look awful the stats are crap... I mean, it would be a good suit of armour if 1, it didn't cost as much and 2, was usable from a lower level. Cuase by the time u can use it better gear is dropping from mobs and is purcasable from vendors.

as I said b4, wardens keep is worth it and the upcomming retern to ostigar look promising as well.
Well... let's say you're an Arcane Warrior. You only need 36 Magic in order to equip it, which you can do around level 7 or so. Right about the time you get Arcane Warrior to begin with.

The interesting thing about this point, is that if a Mage can get 36 armor at level 7, then a Warrior can get 36 strength at level 7.

And you're not getting Silverite armor until level 10 or so.

Not to mention, the bonus stats on it are -very- nice, the item bonus is pretty decent as well. It's well suited to Dragonslaying with the fire resist, which makes your wearer very capable of going toe-to-toe with Flemeth or "Andraste" and tanking them effectively. The set bonuses and the individual bonuses actually put the armor above other Massive armors until Dragonbone is available.

Fact is, when you can start wearing it, you don't have a lot of massive armor options, never mind -Silverite- massive armor options.

And better gear dropping?

Massive armor of -all- types requires 36 strength at Silverite tier, but doesn't provide any additional bonuses unless it's special. You're not getting Wade's Dragonbone, Juggernaut, or Effort dropping off random mobs at the beginning of the game.

So what is this 'better drop' you speak of? Cause the only thing better in Massive is made of Red Steel or Dragonbone, and you're not getting those until 15+.

Actually, that's not so unusual. See, the Old Gods of Tivinter happen to be really big dragons. According to the Chantry*, that's all they are, really big dragons who committed the First Sin by claiming to be something more.

And really, isn't that what the archdaemon is? Just a big ol' dragon with a HUGE army?

In retrospect, I think the whole cultist area is sort of indicative of what's going on in the game as a whole, you have a dragon, claims to be a god, has a whole bunch of followers that fall for this stuff.

Maybe the dragons have a bit more going for them other than big-dragonness.

* of course, that doesn't make it a fact, that only makes it one possible truth. One thing I did like about Dragon Age, is that it didn't tell you everything, but often gave a couple different sides to the stories and histories.

...I haven't played DA:O yet (although I really wanna), but I have been through BG 1 and KOTOR 1 and 2, and pretty far into BG 2 (buuut then I managed to overwrite my main AND autosave...*twitch*) and I gotta say, I don't see what you're getting at. Or, well, I do, but seriously - The samey-level armour and weapons at both level 1 and level 15 is quite plausible if you're still fighting the same enemies or enemies like them. This, the samey-looking enemies and the sheer amount of for example evil cults gives the impression of a real, threatening and kind of realistic organization with a limited budget that has to rely on standard-issue armor and weapons, and might not afford scrolls or spellcaster salaries. just my two cents
