And they weren't even credited with defeating Cell for some reason, like how the heck does that happen? They are flying around and shooting energy balls at each other.
I can understand that, but how did Hercule (Mr. Satan) get credited for winning the tournament? Didn't he get eliminated with one punch? It was around then DBZ really started dragging, both sides conversating for 3/4 of the show and powering up for the other 1/4, so I might have missed a few episodes.ShredHead said:paypuh said:I have always wondered how Goku was able to fight in these highly popular tournaments with all sorts of powerful opponents in the original series, yet in DBZ, the whole world was shocked when everyone started to fly and kick ass in the tournament against Cell. Maybe because DBZ was the start for a lot of people and it would be really weird for first time watchers if Goku flew around the ring and the announcer was just like, sup.

I think he got the announcer to say he won, because he wanted to stay the champ and Goku didn't mind. He pretty much always lets him win.paypuh said:I can understand that, but how did Hercule (Mr. Satan) get credited for winning the tournament? Didn't he get eliminated with one punch? lol who said that?
Terry Pratchett is easily one of my favourite writes. The Guards! series is an excellent set of cop stories set on Discworld, and he's done an amazing job of progressing the universe he's created. The books are all very much comedy and satire, yet manage to have some very thought-provoking, intelligent nuggets of brilliance in there, that quote being an example.-Zen- said:I must read this man's books. After reading a few quotes from his novels on tvtropes.org, I became midly interested in his work. Now I simply must read them.mentor07825 said:Definately that, but I don't approve of open minds.-Zen- said:Indeed. It is best not to worry about matters like "why does Vegeta keep his armor when he transforms?" (though the answer to that is obvious), or "why does their hair do that when they go Super Saiyan?" It is meant to be watched with an open heart and an empty mind. Testosterone helps, too.mentor07825 said:When watching the Dragon Ball series it's best not to think, but rather watch and enjoy.
Terry Pratchett once said, "The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." and I think he's spot on.
