Drinking Games of Video Games?

I was trying to come up with a good drinking game when playing a video game. The only good idea I had was to drink everytime I died playing Dark Souls. That might cause me to die of alcohol poisoning.

So, does anybody can of a good drinking game you can play when you are gaming?

The only one I ever actually played was a longer, more drawn out affair. A friend and I played Final Fantasy 2 (American 2, really IV,) drinking a couple of beers and doing a few shots every time someone sacrificed themselves to save others. Seriously, it seems to happen every time you get a new party member and at the end of nearly every chapter.

Oh, also in college we would 4p splitscreen Perfect Dark, us vs normalsims and hardsims, Teamkillers had to take a shot.

I wouldn't say drink every time somebody says "Persona" in a Persona game...because you'd die...but perhaps these words will suffice instead:

Social Link/Confidant
Any Tarot Card
Shadow/Demon

Additionally, any time you fuse a persona, every time someone reveals a persona for the FIRST TIME (including villains), and every time you see Atlus' mascot, Jack Frost (including Pyro Jack, Black Frost, and King Frost). Hee-ho!

Well, whenever I play drinking games with pals it's usually competitive. Beer Pong, King's Cup, Fuck the Dealer etc. I was a demon at Flipcup in my day.

Way back in the day though we used to play the original Driver as a drinking game. IIRC there was an arcade mode where the cops would chase you down and whomever lasted the least time had to do a shot.

A good multiplayer drinking game these days is Towerfall: Ascension. Hectic good fun, especially if you can get four people playing at the same time.

Skyrim - Take a shot every time a guard takes an arrow to the knee.
Fallout: New Vegas - Take a shot every time patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Overwatch - Take a shot every time Bastion gets play of the game.

Drink every time a character waiting for you in Metro: Last Light repeats their last line because you are too busy scouring every nook and cranny for precious ammo and supplies. Be warned...you will not have enough time to pour the drink before they do it again, so you will get stuck in an endless loop, leading to your untimely demise. Don't say I never give you anything.

It's funny, I've played a decent amount of Skyrim, dozens of hours at least, probably over a hundred, and I only ever heard that line about four times.

I wouldn't even remember it if the least interesting people on Earth hadn't set about repeating it ad nauseam in lieu of humour for a few months back there.

I second this. Much more rewarding too. Getting trashed is, well, trashy and over rated.

Sub bosses = a shot of bourbon or microbrew flight

Bosses = a glass of bourbon or microbrew


If randomness is desired, make it more surprising and significant, funny, etc. The MGS one above sounded fun.

Final Fantasy XV. Take a drink everytime that:
- Noctis complains about something
- Gladiolus nags Noctis
- Ignis comes up with a new recipe
- Prompto makes a Final Fantasy reference (like singing the victory fanfare or the chocobo song)
- The game unexpectedly takes the control out of you to prompt you with a multiple choice decision

Play Sonic 06 with a few buddies. Bring a few six packs. Swap off after every failed attempt at a given course/minigame. There are no particular rules here, Sonic 06 is just one of those games that you'll feel the need to drink after your turn (And/or before. Liquid courage and all that). For a more structured variant: You drink every time you fail the course/minigame due to BS. Do not attempt this solo. You will be dying to BS a lot, and you'll be dying a lot more once the alcohol starts to kick in. That's why you trade off. For additional safety, consider a beer limit.

Tbh we just drink when we are playing it tends to work out fairly well. Usually play short session games that allow you to grab a beer fairly frequently occasionally we will just add a punisher if you lose usually a drink of peoples choosing before we know who is going to lose.

Think Overboard was the last one we played together and if you died you had to drink but really people were just drinking anyway.
