I've known a few that do it as an actual career and others that just do it on and off for abit of extra cash. The ones that I know do it full time are normal people and they treat it like a job. Most of the ones I've know to do it know and again are just normal people once more, only a couple of them were idiots who just do it for a reputation.

I don't really mind knowing them or being friends with them cause it's nothing really new. Drugs have been around since the dawn of time. people are gonna buy so they sell, they don't pay taxes but they stimulate the economy and play their part in their own way.

no it bloody well doesn't. It's illegal and someone always ends up getting hurt. The end. There's always a legit way for a source of income.
Bull shit.
Plus, gay marriage is illegal in many countries as well. Are you saying that that's OK?

I know 2 dealers. I call the "weed guys" because that's all they sell. One of the is just to lazy to get a normal job. He says that he's not going to work 8 hours a day and get paid less than for what he's doing at the moment.
The other one is doing this part time :)
They're not evil. They're just people selling a product for which there is a high demand. If no one would want it, no one would sell it.

Caffeine is a drug too yet I don't see anyone going to grocery stores and calling the employees there scum, thieves, liars etc. for selling coffee.
Because it's legal? So is talking shit about games in the media so leave them alone as well :)
I love how in your world, coffee causes brain damage.

Also, stay on point, who the hell is slagging off games in media here?

In "my world", people can do what they want TO THEMSELVES.

Are we talking about the profession, or about the people "employed" in said profession?

I'd say there's quite a difference. Both could separately be viewed as good, evil, or neutral, depending on where you stand.

If I had to decide, it'd depend on their reasons. Obviously, hard drugs are very bad things and fuck up whoever they touch, and people who distribute them regularly and en masse aren't very good people. So if a dealer was in it with plenty of alternatives, I'd feel poorly disposed towards them, to put it kindly.

But I do understand that a lot of people don't have the opportunities most people take for granted. I wouldn't LIKE it if a person had to deal to get by, but I wouldn't feel as much animosity towards them as people who do it by choice.

Drug dealers aren't much different than regular people, thus the standard rule of "Some people are cool, but some people suck" still applies.

Anyone who routinely gives drugs to people in exchange for money is a drug dealer. I know of a kid who sells drugs, and I've heard someone say "he has to pretend like he's just hanging out with me, so his Mom doesn't get suspicious."

My point being, there are kids who do it. You could know someone who does it and you may not even know.

Not every drug dealer is a tattooed stereotypical thug ready to kill the next person who doesn't pay up.

I guess you are not that familiar with the mexican, colombian and afganian farmers who will either grow dope and sell them to cartels or let their families starve.
I was unaware that drug farming was the only profession available in those countries. They're not - there's always a choice.

Drug dealers are scum pure and simple. They make money by giving addictive substances which have no medical advantage (and the ones that do can be prescribed) to people. An addict to them is just a regular. Having actually met my fair share of drug dealers (as well as addicts) I can say I hate all of them.

Your shaming drug dealers for supplying a service that they cant get anywhere else, if it were legal, they wouldn't exist.
Its up to the individual to make their own decisions, people can govern themselves.

^So you'd say the same of convenience store jockeys who sell cigarettes or anybody who sells alcohol?

Suppliers of demand.

Love 'em, hate 'em, or anything in between, they're inevitable.

Personally, having never dealt with them, I have no strong feelings on the matter.

Yep, they can also sell their kids I guess.

Mate, Mexico is a country with a 5.6% unemployment rate, 25% underemployment rate and 35% self employment, less than half the population has a job where they can get a decent wage; where the Gross domestic product is mainly made from petroleum, illegal alien money and drug dealing, in that order, and a guy like this one http://fbris.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/1.jpg has no real choices.

In my experience some are ok, but there are others who are the scum of the earth and use people's addiction to take advantage of them.

Drug dealers are the main reason for the legalisation of drugs like cannabis in my oppinion.

hmm... I should get around about asking about the 100 posts before you can make your own thread cause I don't even think we're allowed to discuss this sort of thing on this website.

If we can on the other hand my response would be:

Drug Dealers, as in the ones that deal drugs come into two categories, illegal and legal.

Legal drug dealers are places like Pharmacies that deal with things like prescriptions and so forth. Of whom I have no problem with.

Illegal drug dealers, yes they are breaking the law but, personally, they are just normal people that are in it for the money, I still think it's wrong to sell drugs to people who are killing them selves by taking them but at the end of the day, I see more problems with the people taking the drugs rather then the people who deal them.

Since I live in Holland I dont have to buy my weed from some random stranger in a dark alley. I love our "coffeeshop" system.

Just legalizing marjiuana in more countries could put a lot of small time drug dealers out of business.

They are incredibly sketchy people to be around, and most of the time are wound up in other illegal activities too. It's not exactly safe buying drugs, and with the harder ones they'll get their customers hooked.

Definitely don't like the majority of them.

If they bump you and take your money, then they're scummy little wankers. But if they sell you good shit, then they're your friend.
Its all a matter of how they treat you, imo.
