Anyone who suggest LSD - You do realise it's very closely related to crystal meth, right? It's not that addictive or physically destructive, but it can boil you alive and do incredible amounts of psychological damage very quickly.
There's a whole lot of misinformation in this thread. LSD has absolutely no relation to methamphetamine whatsoever, apart from that they agonize the same receptors. LSD has no permanent effect on the body whatsoever, even in huge amounts. Theres people who have accidentally taken doses of up to 300* the normal amount, and 8 months down the line are physically perfectly fit. It *can* have permanent effects on the mind, however HPPD and "flashbacks" are very uncommon in normal doses.

In terms of bodily harm, most psychedelics (ie mescaline, psilocybin, salvia, DMT, LSD) are just as safe as cannabis (and far less toxic than alcohol, it must be said.) Though there can be dangers in mistakenly eating the wrong kind of shroom. With decriminalization however this would never be an issue.

In terms of addiction, no psychedelic contains physically addictive chemicals and mental addictions are extremely uncommon. Trips can be very draining on both the mind and body, most people simply won't want to be tripping more than once a fortnight or so at least.

A mention for none-recreational uses of marijuana has to be made as well. Hemp is an extremely useful fibre. Decriminalization would allow more widespread production of this wonderful plant.

Anyone who criticizes drug use on the basis that its "pathetic", that people shouldn't need to "rely" on the drugs to have fun, i say this: Extreme sports. Compared to climbing a cliff face, LSD is harmless.

And yes, i registered just to make this post. People need to stop spreading this misinformation.
Well welcome to the escapist, great use of empirical data as well. Hope to see more of you in the future.

If any currently illegal drug should be legalized it should be pot, and I say this because when you buy it from a dealer, you have no idea what he has done to it.

Weed is not so much a pain-killer as a pain-distracter, when you're high you don't think about whatever pain you're suffering. Generally some of the hardcore hallucinogens like LSD get people to commit suicide as is (jumping into empty pools and such) based solely on what hallucination they are experiencing.

i believe we should legalize some drugs, by comparing them to those we already consider legal. like marijuana are nowhere as damaging as tobacco or alcohol and therefore it should be legal.

and to some extent. the legalization will prevent the smuggling, drug related shootings and O.D's

The only "drug" I think should be legalized is Marijuana, its not even a real drug, it's a herb.
Honestly the statistics speak for themselves, Zero related deaths, compared to the thousands that die a year while drinking

... Okay while i have stated my reasons for the legalization of Weed your kinda... really wrong.

Number one reason being the defense of "Marijuana isn't a drug its a herb" is irritatingly stupid. That's like saying Cyanide and arsenic are not poisons because they are plants.

Weeds a drug, it has a chemical effect on the body.

As well most evidence doesn't prove OR disprove the effects of weed on driving(the main cause of alcohol related deaths). Trying to pass off weed as never causing harm to anyone is kinda irresponsible seeing as how it takes one statement to burn your house of cards.

Weed needs responsible use and responsible representation if we hope to ever see it reach the public market. Don't throw statements around like that.
