Lol to everyone who says they don't care and post here anyway.

I'm expecting an average to above average FPS that everyone will buy anyway. Lord knows I will.
you think everyone will buy an average to above average game when the only people buying it are doing so because of nostalgia
good point, you're probably right
To be honest, I fully expect this game to sell very well. Not beacuse of nostalgia or beacuse of the actual game quality, but beacuse people will buy it due to the sheer novelty of owning a game that broke all records in terms of development time and still managed to come out in spite of it's vaporware status.

Wow. Uh, I don't really know what to say. Seriously. Never played the older games, and am not overly fond of FPS. While I admit, it's going to be interesting to see it on the market, I'm not getting any shred of a hope up.

Is this game still relevant, or have they missed the marketing high-point? Will it be awesome in a Painkiller/Serious Sam kinda way? Will it run on current operating systems, or is it more a Win 98 thing?

Most importantly, is this the end, and are pigs going airborn?

It's time to laze on our ass for years and finally make a fucking game.

and my ASS HURTS.
You realize that the finished product was not by 3D Realms, but by Gearbox? Meaning it wasn't the lazy asses who finally made the game, but an actual competent dev team?
From what I hear, Gearbox only finalized it. 3DRealms actually did most of the work and would have released early this year had 2K not sued them.

From what i've heard, duke nukem just sounds like an fps game with a ridiculous protagonist.

In fact, the general feel of this thread seems to be "wow it's actually coming out" as opposed to "yay it will be such a great game."
From what you've heard? So... you're too young to have any love for Duke I assume?
Yes, i'm too young to be caught up in stupid nostalgia.
duke 3D isnt good cause its old, its just plain good, i played it again last year and still loved it
what makes it better than any other fps?
Honestly? Nothing. Quake was better. The one-liners are why everyone loves it.Comparing it to any other FPS is like comparing an actual horror movie to Army of Darkness. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
exactly, but in that sence quake was more generic than anything and duke stood out

I honestly don't know what to expect. It could be an average to above average fps but after all this time why even bother bringing it up unless it's going to be the most epic fps since world war II ?

The one thing I worry about this game though, is: Will it retain all the gameplay that 3d-realms made for it, despite it being developed by a different studio?

Meh, stopped caring 6 years ago when Half Life 2 came out.

Seriously, developing the Atomic Bomb took less time than this damn game.

You know how good this game has to be to get a 7/10 rating from users after all this time? It's impossible. In the end I fear it will be just another generic mindless FPS with health regeneration ans iron sights and stuff like that. I bet thee will be nothing innovative about it. I wish I was wrong but I rarely am.
