Team Fortress , BioShock, Half Life...all stupid titles.
Half-Life actually makes sense, when you examine it. Think about it: where are you going in the first game? The lambda complex, so they can send you to Xen. What is the Greek letter Lambda a symbol for? An element's half-life.
Well, I think the point of the thread is wether the title is dumb or not. Not wether it makes sense.

And on that note, Left 4 Dead. It makes sense, but it's an absurd title.

Why is Killzone a stupid title exactly?
It just sounds a little cheesy imo.

Alright guys, here's the zone, go kill in it! Also it is not like the word Killzone is related to the game world itself. e.g. Halo because of the giant ring planet etc.

It's like calling a driving game DriveZone I guess haha.

Modern Warfare. It's not that bad, but it kind of reminds me of an old Atari game or something.

I've gotta go with "Fantasy World Dizzy."

I haven't got the slightest clue what the game is about or what the title means, but the second I heard it, I knew it was one of the dumbest names for a game EVAR.
and it is yahtzee´s number 5 on his favorite games of all time.

I know it's not a video game, but whenever I think "dumb titles" the first thing that comes to mind is "Transformers: REvenge of the Fallen." I get they didn't want something dumb like Transformers 2 or Transformers: Revenge, but gee wiz.
"The Fallen" is actually the name of the main bad guy [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fallen_(Transformers)], so it makes perfect sense. It's kinda like "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back". ;)

Also, I am shocked and appalled that no-one has mentioned Wargasm.

Devil May Cry. When I first heard that I thought to myself:
'Devil may cry about what exactly?"
I wondered what may or may not have hurt Devil's feelings enough to make him cry.

Also I wanted to make a statement about games and the word 'War' in the title. God Of War, Gears of War, World at War, Dawn of War, Halo Wars... everything is something 'War' or 'Wars' these days. I wanna see a game with the word 'Conflict' instead.
Imagine it:
God of Conflict, Gears of Conflict, World at Conflict, Dawn of Conflict, Halo Conflicts (admittedly that sounds more like a troll flame war but still) you know what I mean?

Also... How can there be thirteen FINAL FANTASIES? That means that when they made Final Fantasy 2 they should have added:
Title is a misnomer.

Seriously, did no one mention Freshly-picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland?

Half life - good game but i don't know what the tital is ment to mean
Half-life is a measurement used in science. It's the time it takes for something to decay to half its initial value. It usually has to do with radioactive decay.

Gun. (In an FPS? Really? Holy shit.)
Black. (given the cover, Brass Shell Casings: The Shootinator might have been better)
Dead or Alive. (Apparently Schrödinger's Cat is a bunch of CG chicks with gigantic earth-shaking boobage.)

Viewtiful Joe (because pun names are often more painful than the games)
Final Fantasy. (because the fantasy just doesn't seem to end)
I realise now that there have been about umpteen bazillion versions of Final Fantasy and Ossum is right, why is the Fantasy always Final?

Oh yeah and not many people will even know about this game, I remember it from my youth, the time when I couldn't tell a good game from a bad game. (five years old) Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you "James Pond 2 RoboCod" Not only does the name rip off my beloved 007, is also manages to rip off Robocop. And yeah, its as bad as it sounds.

about final fantasy:
it was named that because the company was going to be sold to someone else so they made their "last" game and called it final fantasy.
the game saved the company and they continued the name/theme.
